QuotePam I'm watching Disney movies I watched Cinderella a couple of days ago. My wife hasn't stopped laughing!by Michael - Tips and Deals
Here's one for a few $ less: I don't know what's going on either; I ordered a coil a few months ago and they came. If they're counterfeit they're a really good version; I had a couple of 2018 forever's from the post office and I couldn't tell the difference.by Michael - Tips and Deals
QuoteOmbligo Locally the best deal on a 20-lb bottled propane fill is $20, you can quickly burn through a tank running the furnace constantly. We use an oil-filled radiator which is highly efficient but slow to heat the trailer. This could quickly take the edge off and then supplement the radiator. If there's a Costco around that sells propane you'll likely find it's less. Ours sells 20-lb forby Michael - Tips and Deals
We got appointments the day they opened the online reservation for next Friday. Then next day the system crashed for a week and they went telephone appointments only. They are saying we have to call back after the first appointment to make the second one. It will be interesting to see if they've figured out just how incredibly inefficient it is to have people call back while others are trying toby Michael - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
MyQ, as well.by Michael - Tips and Deals
Just today I started watching after having it since last April. I like the Morning Show. I'll try the others. But, at this point I wouldn't pay $5 a month. I get too much from Hulu for $2.by Michael - Tips and Deals
QuotePsurfer Yeah, this one sounds like it inherited a lot of that GE turbine DNA. Can someone check their reasonably current mdl for its air intake and exhaust location? (I used an empty thin grocery produce bag as the directional indicator) As I noted above, mine seems to cause a draft problem in the house perhaps because it draws IN air from the back and exhausts it out the front, thby Michael - Tips and Deals
We bought a Whirlpool side-by-side a couple of years ago. I immediately noticed that it was louder than the old refrig and then saw a number of comments about it, including a couple of people who sent it back to Lowe's. But, it didn't take long for us to habituate to it and neither of us notice any noise at all with it. It doesn't make any sort of gurgling sound; it's either the compressor or a fby Michael - Tips and Deals
QuoteLyleH Walgreen's advertises Passport photos. I've never used them for that purpose. LyleH We used Walgreen's last time. I think it was $15--way overpriced, but they knew enough to tell us to take off our eyeglasses and have a neutral facial expression. I'd probably use them again rather than mess with it myself.by Michael - Tips and Deals
We bought one of these a long time ago: I put it in the wall behind the bathroom door with a mirror on hidden hinges in front of it. It's findable but not at all obvious. I understand that somebody with a reciprocating saw could take it out in 2 minutes. But, I also assume that thieves don't generally walk around with reciprocating saws (or rare earth magnets-who woulda' thunk that's a thiby Michael - Tips and Deals
Bought one of each. When I win, I'll pay for a round!by Michael - Tips and Deals
Quotebobinmurphy Since the COVID hysteria UPS has been dropping packages on the customer's doorstep and then checking the "hand delivered to resident" box on their APP. Sometimes they take a photo, many times they don't. Now it's possible someone came along and picked up the package, or it was delivered to the wrong address, but as far as UPS is concerned it was "hand delivered tby Michael - Tips and Deals
We've been carefully watching our food for 9 days; I've lost 5 lbs and my wife 3. We have a ways to go! Last year we started doing the old Royal Canadian Air Force exercises daily from my dad's book that's probably 50 years old to supplement golf and biking. I'm at 14 pushups and it's fine for the first 5, then the next 5 are tougher and the last 4 almost kill me! I will certainly not get to 10,0by Michael - Tips and Deals
If you traded something in on the 12mini be prepared to find odd things happening with a substantial immediate credit and then supposedly the appropriate charge and credit will appear on bills after several months. I got lost in the weeds when the TMobile rep was showing me how it works but I've kept the paperwork and I'll figure it out when my bill finally gets the charge and credit on it. I think we'll probably buy my wife a new MacBook Pro in the summer if the anticipated redesign is released by then and they do whatever education deal they'll have for the summer. If they don't have an education deal with a redesigned Pro we'll probably wait for other deals toward Christmas.by Michael - Tips and Deals
Quotejdc Best. Keynote. Ever. EDIT: Just start with the first 3:30 It was so cool. It's strange but he's probably the only public figure who I miss. Every time a new Apple product comes out and at moments when I really appreciate one of our Apple products I think of Steve Jobs wistfully. I always wonder what remarkable thing he'd (and, of course, the rest of Apple...) would have upby Michael - Tips and Deals
QuotergG Then you don’t have a republic anymore. The best way to avoid the mess we have now is to have a really good education system for everyone. Improvement will take a while. Thank you for saying this.by Michael - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
QuoteJoeM My wife’s is similar. I like the feel of these but couldn’t find one with a belt clip. This was I bought, I also had it for the duration of my 6S. Encased DuraClip Series Designed for iPhone 12 Pro Belt Clip Case - Slim Fit Cover with Holster (Black) by Encased I have an Otterbox Defender but it's very bulky and several times it has not clipped in precisely. It looks like the case is $23 on Newegg. It's remarkable to me that they didn't immediately apologize and send you a new one. Not only would that maintain customer satisfaction, but it would likely have saved them money. It surely took hundreds of dollars of somebody's time to go back and forth with you and view the videos, tell you that you didn't know what they were doing, etc. I'm glad you'by Michael - Tips and Deals
QuoteAcer We have one that is timed to dissolve, or simply not be enacted, then the youngest child reaches 21. We didn't do at 18 because a sudden influx of cash can mess up the life of even a young adult who is still not sure exactly where they are going in life. The trustee can help them make sure they use the money wisely. Ours arranged for distribution of assets to our kid in stages: educatby Michael - Tips and Deals
We've never insured any phones nor had AppleCare on anything. We use credit cards that double warranties to buy electronics so if we ever have a problem we'll have that. We both use cases on our iPhones (clear Spigen for my wife; Otterbox Defender for me). So far, so good...by Michael - Tips and Deals
Ever since we put a Wyze cam aimed at our driveway and got a Ring doorbell we just don't answer the door for those young, sincere (annoying!) people. It's great.by Michael - Tips and Deals
If you used a credit card with Paypal and called the bank and they said, "tough luck," but you didn't fill out the "official" paperwork with your bank, I'd do it. The Truth In Lending Act requires banks to investigate on a timely basis and not receiving the item that was ordered is one of the fraudulent purchase criteria. If you did use a credit card and file a chargeback, a cby Michael - Tips and Deals
I've been seeing obits on funeral home sites. We lost our retired golf pro to COVID right before Christmas (that REALLY sucked...) and there was a really nice obit on the funeral home site but nothing in the 4-day-per-week local paper. Interestingly they did have a article about his death since he coached 4 or 5 people who became minor professional golfers over the years.by Michael - Tips and Deals
The Republican party will evolve. Look how quickly the AL Republicans moved from nominating the crazy, twice-removed Supreme Court chief of AL, Roy Moore (with his unique interest in teenage girls) to the (not-crazy) conservative Tommy Tuberville, who's primary qualification seems to be that he was a very effective head coach for Auburn from 1999 through 2008.by Michael - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
QuoteGGD QuoteCa Bob I think Alex is already sworn in as the junior senator from California. That would explain why the senatorial votes last night totaled 99 each time. Are you saying that CA had 3 votes? I heard "Ms Harris" called during the rollcall. I also heard Kelly Loeffler's name called. I think the missing vote was David Perdue, his term actually expired, while Loeffleby Michael - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
So far, so good. I've lost 4 lbs on my annual attempt to get in better shape after gorging on Christmas stuff before our Feb annual physicals. And, my wife and I have appointments to get the vaccine 2 weeks from today. Georgia has decided to combine the CDC 1b and 1c categories and at least 2 counties that I know of have online calendars for appointments at 5 min apart. That's very cool! Based on the pine trees in the background right, it looks like the spring/summer pics at the top were taken at about the same time while the fall/winter pics at the bottom were taken about the same time. It's interesting how much those pines grew in 16 years!by Michael - Tips and Deals
Quotespace-time QuoteRgrF ... They (T-Mobile) also have a bank that offers 4% on checking. They are going after Google and Apple for cross-service dominance. 4% is too good to be true... and it is. it applies to the first $3000, after that it drops to 1%. And there are a bunch of strings attached, such as you need to be a post paid customer, and a few others. if they offered 4% with no liby Michael - Tips and Deals
