yeah, you would... but it's pretty hard to scam someone in a face to face meeting (the only way the seller will sell) unless you're a true moron.

It looks JUST LIKE popcorn. Only difference I can see is that it has presets for iPhone and Apple TV. If you already own toast 8 or popcorn, don't waste you money on this thingy. Instead, learn how to use toast or popcorn to get the same output as Crunch.
Best thing about is it's apt name.

Not very surprising. Lots of people, when faced with a machine that is DOA out of box, sour on that brand.

I wasn't scolding you btw, just offering advice for others. You were trying to fix something that wasn't working right. I was addressing people that install firmware updates just because they are available.

The danger is true for any device - a botched firmware update can kill anything. Don't do it unless it's still under warranty and/or the firmware update claims to fix problems you've been having and have tried everything else.
I hold my breath when I do computer firmware updates...

"It also really should have included a pair of batteries (as is the case with the brand-new ones that cost $8 more)."
As a seller, I CAN'T STAND buyers that think the auction should include something that is not listed. Drives me insane. What SHOULD be included in the auction is only what is listed.
Beyond that, I'd listen to $tevie. Leave good fb if you want - you don't have to.

I suspect that just pulling a drive, setting it aside for 24 hours, then reinstalling it might also get the drive going for a short while.
The freezer may not be doing anything at all.
Many things just like to be taken apart and then work for no obvious reason when put back together again. It's happened to me many times.

QuoteSilencioQuotejdcalthough bigger, couldnt you just configure an older G4 tower to do the same thing?
Of course, if you have a spare one lying around and don't mind the size / noise / power consumption disadvantages of the G4 tower, or the extra expense of getting a SATA PCI card if you want >128GB disk capacity.
I don't think I'd spend the money on a used G4 tower to build a server ou

Contact the (original) seller and ask.
If the auction was for some popular thingy (mac, ipod), then expect bogus 2nd chance offers - happens EVERY TIME.

I can't imagine how apple expects dialup users to get 300mb system updates online. There's no reason it can't set up with resume functions.
BGNR is not here to help, but to get a sense of superiority by talking down to users with less knowledge. In his posts, he gives just enough info to show that HE knows the answer, but not enough to explain it to someone who needs help.
He'll deny it of

2nd place bidders almost NEVER take the offer. If this is for a powerbook, your bidders probably already have rec'd bogus 2nd chance offers and your will really confuse them.
Tell the bidder that, no offense, you HAVE to report him as a non paying bidder to get your fees back - this true. Show him the ebay page.
It's also true that after three such strikes, his account may be terminated. Te

I like buying from newegg and zipzoomfly, but I recently placed an order with frys.com for a maxtor sata 500gb drive ($109) and a 1gb sodimm. The combined prices was better then anything I could find on NE or ZZF. So I decided to take the extra wait (Frys ships from mid west, others from CA - where I live)
The frys order shipped promptly, but to my surprise, the bare drive arrived packaged in

Now you know to never list BIN auctions without 'immediate payment' option as well. This will happed EVERY time for popular consumer electronics.
The auction is over - there is no way to cancel a bid on a closed auction. All you can do is go through the system to get your fees back (you have already been charged) and relist it.
Go to my ebay, scroll to the bottom and look at the help links

THere are ways to pay other than cash, but none are 100% fool proof. Put any method suggested here into google with the word 'scam' or something like that and you will find the weaknesses of that kind of transaction.
If you get scammed you will quickly become one of those 'cash only' types.

You might want to call.
I'm in midtown and today the fedex ground guy could find my address.
My address like this: 1234 XXStreet where XX is a number between 1 and 26...
If you can count and know the alphabet, it shouldn't be that hard to find me. I saw a 'delivery exception - wrong address' on the tracking info. The address was NOT wrong. The driver was a moron...

bruce - you need to call the big three credit bureaus NOW. Ask if there have been any new credit accounts opened in your name. Chances are that you are only seeing the tip of the iceberg. It might well be that you'll spend the next two weeks on the phone canceling dozens of credit accounts. Hope not, but you should be on the phone first thing in the morn to TRW (or whatever they call themselves
