Contact the (original) seller and ask. If the auction was for some popular thingy (mac, ipod), then expect bogus 2nd chance offers - happens EVERY TIME.

2nd place bidders almost NEVER take the offer. If this is for a powerbook, your bidders probably already have rec'd bogus 2nd chance offers and your will really confuse them. Now you know to never list BIN auctions without 'immediate payment' option as well. This will happed EVERY time for popular consumer electronics. The auction is over - there is no way to cancel a bid on a closed auction. All you can do is go through the system to get your fees back (you have already been charged) and relist it. THere are ways to pay other than cash, but none are 100% fool proof. Put any method suggested here into google with the word 'scam' or something like that and you will find the weaknesses of that kind of transaction. If you get scammed you will quickly become one of those 'cash only' types.

If you can count and know the alphabet, it shouldn't be that hard to find me. I saw a 'delivery exception - wrong address' on the tracking info. The address was NOT wrong. The driver was a moron...

you have everything backed up - right? if so, start with disk warrior and report back. yes, it's a bad sign. Your hard drive might be dying, but could also be related to your optical drive or external devices - unplug them before you try troubleshooting...

on the other hand, holding onto a laptop for more than 3 years creates a gigantic loss in the machine's value. I've hardly spent a dime since my 867mhz Ti 15" model. I have a 2.16 dualcore now. And let me tell you, it's a LOT faster.

I never let my laptops get to be 1 year old before I sell them. I find a rock bottom purchase price and sell the current for top dollar on ebay. Usually the sale price of the old machine will equal the cost of the new one. AT THE VERY LEAST - the sale price of the old one + $300 (apple care cost) will get you a new machine. Why would anyone want to keep the same machine for 3 years when

thanks for that report 645 - very pertinent to what I'm wanting to learn. Even my macbook pro 2.16 core duo - 1gb, feels about as fast in many ways as the G5. Thinking of selling it and getting a 2.0 mac pro... btw... 'blazing' is the way it felt when i first used it. Still feels damn fast, but I'm beginnign to think that the mac pro might really kick it's ass with universal apps

I've got a blazing fast 2.5 dual g5 with 4gb mem, raid startup and tons of storage... How will a mac pro feel compared to my g5? How much memory do you have in you MP? How different was 1gb from 2, 4, 8gb? Any surprises? Things that you liked/disliked that you didn't consider when buying? And what's with the dual enet ports? any random comments would be appreciated...
