Sony have got it right a couple of times, most notably with a little thing called Compact Disc. M$ on the otherhand never seem to get it right and basically rehash other peoples ideas. Downloads maybe be the wave of the furure but it's the way off future, ain't happening anytime soon.by SLM - Tips and Deals
QuoteBigGuynRustyQuoteSLMNullriver have released a PS3 version of their much lauded Connect360 software called MediaLink. Haven't tried it yet but hopefully it will bridge the gap that ElGato and Twonky failed to. 30 minute demo available. What gap? ElGato has EyeConnect, works great. BGnR No it doesn't, not for me, and from what I gather on other forums, quite a few others too. Iby SLM - Tips and Deals

QuoteincognegroI like it. the RICE part is subtle. I've been thinking about retiring this handle & returning to an old one, or making a new one. what started as a departure from dealchat.com (remember that?) seems like it could easily be misconstrued as something racist (which it most certainly is not). So says cunty baws ;)by SLM - Tips and Deals
Ouch that's gotta hurt. (January 4, 2008 – Burbank, CA) – In response to consumer demand, Warner Bros. The christmas special was pretty awful, hope it isn't a sign of things to come, although with no Steven Moffat stories coming up i am afraid that is exactly what it is.by SLM - Tips and Deals
In the finale there is a brilliant cameo by George Michael cottaging on Hampstead Heath... possibly the funniest cameo ever.by SLM - Tips and Deals

Had Pong, then when I first moved to the states picked up a Sega Genesis. Later on I picked up the connectix playstation emulator so as I could play GT on my Wallstreet. My kid got a PS2 from his grandfather which I later on replaced when it started having issues, he used it more for DVDs than games until recently, does a bit more gaming now. I picked up a PS3 primarily for Blu-ray but foby SLM - Tips and Deals

SD channels on a HD set will never look as good as SD channels on a SD set. It may be brighter and sharper on the HD set, but that isn't necessarily better. You will see a lot of pixelation. Pretty much the same effect as taking a 72dpi image and bumping it up to 300dpi.by SLM - Tips and Deals
2001 would be my recommendation, I have the BD of it and it is demo material.by SLM - Tips and Deals
QuoteNewtonMP2100. . .I think the sequel is in the works (not sure) but 28 months later is my bet. . . It is supposed to be a trilogy, Boyle was supposed to do the second one but conflicting schedule (Sunshine) ruled him out but obviously had creative input as the movies have a very similar feel to them, and yes it is to be titled 28 months later. It was originally supposed to pick up in Franceby SLM - Tips and Deals
Better make sure you know which studio does what before you commit. No Pixar or Disney on HD-DVD.by SLM - Tips and Deals
She does great work, I got a 7200 off her about 7 years back and it is still kicking ass.by SLM - Tips and Deals
Kept chickens when I lived in California, it was my understanding that @#$%& crowed as a proclamation of territory. They didn't just do it just in the morning, anytime during daylight hours it seemed. I got used to it very quickly, then again I had just moved from Kilburn so I was used to noisy, lol.by SLM - Tips and Deals
QuoteChupa Chupa So I see no reason to pay for a top end machine today if I can't use it's features today. I'd rather buy the player that matches the TV I have today. When I get a better TV I'll get a better player if need be. In the end, electronics go down in price and up in features over time so there is no reason to "buy up." But there in is the point, it isn't a high end machine,by SLM - Tips and Deals
The idea is that you buy up, because at some point you will have a 1080p TV. No point in upgrading both. I had a CD player before I had CD's, I had a DVD drive in my Wallstreet before I had DVDs. Always better to overcompensate, lol.by SLM - Tips and Deals
QuoteSpock Men Behaving Badly .......... Coupling ...... The Office .... to mention but a few. Yep, can't disagree. Have to disagree on the US version of the Office, not as good as the UK version but it is still a very well written and funny show. Especially the Gay Witch Hunt episode which was as funny as anything Gervais and Merchant ever wrote. Next up on the chopping block, the ITby SLM - Tips and Deals
How original, Americans murdering shows from the BBC, lol. FWIW, the original is actually very good if somewhat odd given the musical numbers... ranging from Kenny Rogers to the Smiths, but oddly enough it works.by SLM - Tips and Deals

Don't underestimate the kid, my lad has been using my Nikon P&S (P2) since he was 4, didn't take him long to figure out how to transfer the pictures and add them to iPhoto which isn't as easy as you'd think with the P2.by SLM - Tips and Deals
I found myself in a similar position a few years back. Managed to get all the files back by using a 2x CD-Rom, the slower the drive the more likely you are to recover the data.by SLM - Tips and Deals
