Hard disk in my 2007 24" iMac is toast. (I think the 5400rpm drive is running at 33 1/3) The iFixit instructions don't look too hard. I'm pretty handy... have made a hackintosh, replaced a mobo in a Macbook Pro, put together a plug in hybrid Prius but I am scared of ruining the glass or LCD when I pull it apart. Any words of wisdom from those that do this for a living? Thanksby dad@home - Tips and Deals

I'm an Anesthesiologist who does some work in chronic pain. First your sleep needs to be addressed. You may have obstructive sleep apnea. Are you overweigh?. Do you snore? Are you sleepy during the day? Are you hypertensive? You may need a sleep study and a CPAP mask (I know I use one) a lot more than a sleep aid. Next your pain Meds. Ted's right. This is old news. Where I live in Washington State hydro and wind generate the vast majority of my electricity. For the last two years BPA (who has control of the power transmission lines) has ordered wind producers to shut down their wind farms so that they could put more spring runoff water through the generators. Putting water through the spillways was not an option becausby dad@home - 'Friendly' Political Ranting

When we lived in upstate NY we loved to go to Puerto Rico. We stayed in San Juan (loved the El San Juan on Isla Verde) and did day trips for the kids to El Yuneque National Forest (a neat rain forest with waterfalls you can hick up to) and to Arecebo Radio Telescope (its only open for tourists a couple days a week so check before you go). Don't get impatient. I've been dieting on and off (mostly off) for most of my 54 years. It seems the faster I lose the weight the quicker it comes back. Over the last year and a half I have tried to be more mellow about it. I eat healthy, I exercise 5 to 6 times per week and I only weigh my self once a week at most. That is an idler pulley. I can't tell if is the tensioner for the belt from your photograph so there may be another idler as well. The working side of the serpentine belt has the multiple grooves and the idler which presses on the "non-working" or smooth side of the belt is supposed to be smooth and shinny. While in high school and as summer jobs I cleaned and maintained rental cars at Hertz in Boise (1973-1978). Very occasionally we would get a car back that had been abused inside and out. Some people simply are pigs! but no matter how much cleaning we would do there was still evidence of abuse.
