Have always used Quicken for a digital register. We do not connect to bank, just use it to balance and search categories for payments. Any suggestions on best software to use for checking accounts? ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Thanks for all the input, shopping online soon. See what I can come up with in the Brother products. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Thanks, I think that is more than she needs. No color needed, looking for something small occasional printing. They get 200 pages per semester included but it is not working for her new Macbook pro. Tech support at the school only said "It should be working" Wireless would be nice. I used to see good feedback for brother. But a lot of the reviews are bad now especially for use wiby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Any recommendations for a good low cost laser printer that my daughter can keep in her dorm room? School printer in dorm basement is not working reliably, she would like a printer in her room. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Update, We had a close lightning strike at 430 that morning. My brother lives about a 1/4 mile away and it woke his whole family. When he got up in the morning he found an area in a corn field next to his yard. It shredded some corn and threw dirt every where. There was a trench where it traveled in the ground.by goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Our DSL modem is fine which would seem unusual.by goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Just to add, no sign of power loss during the night.by goosegunner - Tips and Deals
I woke up this morning to find both of our airport extremes in our house not working. Main one on network in the basement no lights. Second one wired as an extender on 1st floor no lights. I have an extra power supply and tried that, no lights or sign of power. I have extra base stations, tried all three power supplies and they all work on the extra base station. Thanks for all the info, We will discuss and decide what to do. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Thanks for the fast response! I have fell out of the current Mac's and specs. She is just taking General ed classes at this point so her needs will be very basic. The upgrade from current is more than anything an insurance that I won't have to deal with computer problems, battery life, low drive space, low ram. I would either sell her current air to upgrade or sell my 2009 Macbook proby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Youngest is starting college in the fall, which 13" Macbook pro or air would you recommend for a basic school computer. She currently has a 2011 13" macbook air but I am thinking we should sell and start with a fresh computer to last 4 years or so. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Yeah it sucks, definitely learned the hard way about iCloud backup for photos. I was under the mistake impression that iCloud backup would chew through data. Should have looked into it more. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
So I had my wife's iPhone 6 split open and drying with a fan for 2 days. I took it to a repair shop and they looked at it. Corrosion not to bad but said they would need to us the ultrasonic cleaner on the logic board. We decided to hold off for the time being. He did try a different battery and screen but it did not work. I took it with me and decided I should try hooking it to my computby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Thanks for the replies, I am still working on a solution. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
I opened it up in less than 2 minutes, my wife said why don't they do that for people. I said "They want you to buy a new phone" I will be kicking myself for a while for going there today. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
QuoteRacer X "Seems odd that they can't get stuff off the memory" I'm sure it is possible, but not by them, and for something that trivial (nothing personal, no offense meant) None taken, sd card sure would be nice!by goosegunner - Tips and Deals
QuotergG Do you have any other iDevice that has photo stream set up where you might have DL the pics to the photo stream? This is different from iCloud backup. No, only other iPhones but they have different iCloud accounts.by goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Yeah it happened pretty fast at the store. We stopped in to see if there was any way they could retrieve photos. He said looks dry and tried to turn it on. Hind sight I should have stayed home, probably lost our opportunity. I did use my islack to open it and have it in my home built holder with a fan on it. I will leave it open for a day or so with fan running and hope for the best. Beingby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Unfortunately my wife dropped her iPhone 6 in our pool this morning. It was not set to send photos to the cloud. She had just taken many pictures of our daughters graduation and last dance recital. Bag of rice immediately, took it to the apple store today and the genius tried turning it on, no indication of life. He said pictures are lost, $299 for a new one. Told us to be cautious abouby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Ok thanks, I was wondering what the current feedback was on Brother. I think his Hp is the 6500, which looks like it has a replaceable print head. Genuine one is about $65 on Amazon. I think it cost about a $100 when new.... ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
My dad rarely uses his computer and his printer even less. He has a Hp inkjet all in one that must be clogged up somewhere from non use. He put in new ink cartridges and it does not print. He wants to get a laser to print and also copy occasional documents. What is a good buy for someone that rarely prints or copies and not real computer savvy. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
I just went from the 5 to a 6 and I like the screen size for my aging vision. Still need reading glasses though. It would have been a tough decision between the 5se and the 6 for me. I paid $360 for a new 6 but I really like the way the 5 series is built. It just seems solid with nicer fitting parts. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
US cellular just had a sale on iPhones Brand new 5s $264 6 $360 6s $504 Then subtract $150 from that if you trade in a smartphone. Another $150 if you are coming from another carrier. If you are referred by a us cellular customer you each get an additional $50 for each new switcher smart phone activated. ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Quotejdc According to the post below, both are too big. Or they arent. Assuming both are 16 GB models -- do you fill it up? Would going with a 64 GB 6 be the same cost? Yes both are 16gig. My wife and I had enough space with 16gig. Mine was a little cramped on a recent trip when putting movies on for flight. The 64 gig 6 would be $480. Both of my daughters decided to go with 16gig 6sby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Quotepdq Will you sell your phone eventually? That would reduce the difference significantly. Personally, I haven't used forcetouch much, or live pictures. I have used ApplePay quite a bit, but I think you get that with a 6 too. Probably won't sell the 6. We used our the iPhone 5 for 3 years. They were traded in for $150 of the $300 promo.by goosegunner - Tips and Deals
We went back to US Cellular from Verizon because of Coverage in our area. They have a Promotion for $300 for switching and iPhones are on sale throughThursday if you do payment plan. I will be paying them off early because I prefer the small bill. iPhone 6s is $21/month total $504 iphone 6 is $15/ month total $360 The $300 will be applied to the reduce the above cost to; 6s $204by goosegunner - Tips and Deals
My wife is looking for a good site or method to make Paper Graduation invitations. She wants to make paper finish with photos that are popular now. Usually one sheet card, photos/announcement one side, details on back. Any suggestions? ggby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
Ford fusion with 4cyl Between myself and my brother we have 5 that have been trouble free. They are cheap to fix if needed and get decent mileage for the size. The also are rated very well for crash tests. The 2010-2012 with the 2.5 4cyl get 35mpg on the hwy in summer. Winter mixed driving about 28-30mpg My youngest daughter is driving a 2010 with 172,000 miles. It has been a great carby goosegunner - Tips and Deals
