Have always used Quicken for a digital register. We do not connect to bank, just use it to balance and search categories for payments. Any suggestions on best software to use for checking accounts? gg

Update, We had a close lightning strike at 430 that morning. My brother lives about a 1/4 mile away and it woke his whole family. When he got up in the morning he found an area in a corn field next to his yard. It shredded some corn and threw dirt every where. There was a trench where it traveled in the ground.

I woke up this morning to find both of our airport extremes in our house not working. Main one on network in the basement no lights. Second one wired as an extender on 1st floor no lights. Thanks for the fast response! I have fell out of the current Mac's and specs. She is just taking General ed classes at this point so her needs will be very basic. The upgrade from current is more than anything an insurance that I won't have to deal with computer problems, battery life, low drive space, low ram. I would either sell her current air to upgrade or sell my 2009 Macbook pro

Youngest is starting college in the fall, which 13" Macbook pro or air would you recommend for a basic school computer. She currently has a 2011 13" macbook air but I am thinking we should sell and start with a fresh computer to last 4 years or so. gg

Yeah it sucks, definitely learned the hard way about iCloud backup for photos. I was under the mistake impression that iCloud backup would chew through data. Should have looked into it more. gg

So I had my wife's iPhone 6 split open and drying with a fan for 2 days. I took it to a repair shop and they looked at it. Corrosion not to bad but said they would need to us the ultrasonic cleaner on the logic board. We decided to hold off for the time being. I opened it up in less than 2 minutes, my wife said why don't they do that for people. I said "They want you to buy a new phone" I will be kicking myself for a while for going there today. gg

Yeah it happened pretty fast at the store. We stopped in to see if there was any way they could retrieve photos. He said looks dry and tried to turn it on. Hind sight I should have stayed home, probably lost our opportunity. I did use my islack to open it and have it in my home built holder with a fan on it. I will leave it open for a day or so with fan running and hope for the best. Being

Ok thanks, I was wondering what the current feedback was on Brother. I think his Hp is the 6500, which looks like it has a replaceable print head. Genuine one is about $65 on Amazon. I think it cost about a $100 when new.... gg

My dad rarely uses his computer and his printer even less. He has a Hp inkjet all in one that must be clogged up somewhere from non use. He put in new ink cartridges and it does not print. He wants to get a laser to print and also copy occasional documents. What is a good buy for someone that rarely prints or copies and not real computer savvy. gg

I just went from the 5 to a 6 and I like the screen size for my aging vision. Still need reading glasses though. It would have been a tough decision between the 5se and the 6 for me. I paid $360 for a new 6 but I really like the way the 5 series is built. It just seems solid with nicer fitting parts. gg

Quotepdq Will you sell your phone eventually? That would reduce the difference significantly. Personally, I haven't used forcetouch much, or live pictures. I have used ApplePay quite a bit, but I think you get that with a 6 too. Probably won't sell the 6. We used our the iPhone 5 for 3 years. They were traded in for $150 of the $300 promo.
