Thanks I will check things tonight. Kind of bummed the battery did basically nothing. Good thing I made a nice holder to keep the upper half at a 85 degree angle while working in the iPhone. gg

I just replaced my daughters iPhone 5 battery with a new one monday from OWC. It does not hold a charge much better than her 2.5 year old original. Today in 4.5 hours it dropped to 17% from a full charge. Barely being used as she was in school. OWC is sending me a different one. Is there anything else I should do or check? gg

Don't get too excited. There will probably be a unscheduled shut down of a refinery for maintenance to get prices back up. That happened in the midwest 2 months ago. Gas went up 50 cents/gal in one day. gg

I have my 2009 running off the drive via USB. I have updated the time machine. Now to find a replacement.

It is a 13". I did just find my newer tech adapter. I am going to try and boot my 2009 with the drive and up date the Time Machine drive I had for my wife's 2010. gg

The 2011 I am looking at is actually the early one a 2.3 i5, shipped with 10.6.6. Might be able to get back up and running quickly. gg

Big mess too because we had lots of photos on there that will need to be transferred to different computer which will most likely be a different version of iPhoto. Luckily I do have backups of the Library incase the transfer goes poorly. gg

Last week I spilled a cup of coffee on my wife's 2010 Macbook pro. It was closed but plugged in. It died immediately. I am looking at buying a used or refurbished one for now to replace. I found a 2011, can the drive just be changed to simplify the transition or would the old drive be missing files for a 2011 to boot? gg

Nah, but they have been pretty steady for the last 6+ months. At least in the 240 GB range. Bought mine for $79 on sale last October, same drive is $89-99 now. But all the time you have lost! For what I am using it for it sounds like I should either Try wifi or figure out the cat6 with lightning protection. 1. I want to have internet access in shed. 2. Want to have a camera or 2 in or on shed. 3. Might want music out there from storage in house. 4. Remote temperature monitoring of my wood boiler via X300 Pretty basic stuff. gg
