Talked to the phone Co and the the linemen today working near my house. They said DSL in a week. Its been a long wait especially since we get 24K dial up. 1.5 Mbps is around $40. About what I am paying for my 2nd line and dial up. Any thing I should know or ask about DSL? Filters on the lines? I am thinking about putting the modem in the basement where the phone comes in and using

I have posted a few times about having to buy a PC or a intel mac so my daughter could use a Spanish study cd from her school. Well I have the files working on our G4 867 thanks to File Juicer and iSwiff. I did a google search last night and File Juicer came up so I gave it a shot along with iswiff. I am still playing around with it but the files seem to be working just fine. Hop

Larry I have been thinking the same thing. My hunch is the Macbook Pro will get the Core 2 duo and the Macbook will stay the same. Kind of like the imac vs the mini. A price reduction would always be nice though. I just need to get something that will run XP for my daughters School needs. gg

For some reason I can copy and cut but when I try to paste the computer beeps and does not paste info. Then the paste selection under Edit turns grey. Tried using mouse and also Keyboard shortcut, still no go. Any settings to check? gg

Just wondering if there is a significant performance boost between the two? Any difference besides the .17Ghz and the superdrive? refurb 1.83 $949 2.0 $1099 I don't think I need a super drive in a small portable. gg

My daughter needs a pc to run .exe files for a spanish class study cd. Not sure I want the expense and hassle of getting a macbook/ bootcamp/XP I have been looking at inexpensive pc laptops. Toshiba, hp, lenovo 3000. Toshiba satellite with a duo core 1.6GHZ 512ram 80gig for $599. What do you think, Get what you pay for junk? or Ok, for school work basic needs? gg

Last week I posted about not being able to empty the trash on my user account. OS 10.3.9 I used cocktail and onyx to run some maintenance. Now I have found can't repair permissions with Disk utility, cocktail or onyx. I have even tried starting up off an external disk and repairing the internal. Still no go. Any suggestions? gg

I moved the files to a shared folder, went to another user and deleted from that trash. It still won't let me delete anything from my primary user. I don't have cocktail or onyx which would be better? gg

OSX 10.3.9 For some reason I can't empty the trash. No warnings or popups. Just doesn't do anything when I choose in the dock or Menu/finder/empty trash restarted and repaired permissions, still no go Anyone ever have this problem? gg

Yes 12 different worksheets. My dad has 11 remaining siblings. I have made a tab for each sibling. Each individual worksheet has my Aunt,Uncle, each of their children and spouse, and grandchildren. My thought was family members could click the family tab they wanted and then quickly find who they wanted. Problem is that not everyone has excel, some have old versions from Microsoft works

My daughter is taking Spanish in High school this year. The teacher hands out some type of cd that has exe files on it for each chapter and quiz. they let the students practice by typing in the answers.
