They were really big back in 2008-2011. Tons of web forums popped up for them and I think there were only a few cats in Germany making them (back then). Now ya can find cheap ones on eBay - not that Id trust it to be well built. Definately an instrument where you get what you pay for.

Think I'm probably beating a dead horse, but with the purchase of a new flat panel and audio cabinet I started looking at updating my old Sony ES series receiver to one of the newer ones that have HDMI. Seems there are models that pass 3D, pass 4k, etc and even have the ability to somewhat "tune" your room with the use of an included microphone. Whats the best bang for the buck toda

Samsung 205bw monitors are dying. What should I replace with? - 10 years ago

Currently using a 204B as the main screen and a 205bw as the second. The 205 died the other night (which now makes 2 failed Samsung monitors in my office. Considering going to a single larger monitor unless there are some sweet deals on 20" units. Whats out there this week to buy? Rain

This was not a producing oil platform. Drilling crew were not on board. (only maintenance crew) The oil sheen is about 200 yards wide and a half a mile long. It seems there was about 28 gallons of oil in the pipe at the time of the explosion.

Last report I read said the maintenance crew was using a cutting torch on a 3" pipe when the explosion happened. 4 men had already been removed from the platform as standard operating procedure. 11 were taken off safely. 11 more are in area hospitals. 2 are still missing. Quoterz According to the chart referenced above, my Early 2008 Mac Pro supposedly scores 9485. But when I ran it myself, it scored 10,266. Not bad for an "old" machine. This loaner Mini I'm on now scored a 3125. (late 2009, C2D 2.26 GHz. 8 GB RAM running 10.6.8)

These days my work has changed. Light Photoshop work, 2 track audio work, spreadsheets and such (designing audio/video/lighting systems). I'll keep watching for the $999 iMac but probably going to find a mac mini sooner.

How old of a Mac Pro can I get into and still be "current"? Is there a huge performance difference in an i5 2.5 processor vs say a Apple Mac Pro 2 x 2.0GHZ Quad-core? Just wondering since the Mac Pro is like a late 2007 and the i5 would be a late 2011 I guess.

With the death of my iMac 20" 2.0 dual core a few weeks ago I've been meaning to start shopping again. Tax refund check just arrived and the wife is pushing for me to give back her Mac Mini.
