Dell has a good deal on the XPS 7100 AMD Phenom processor though. (dual 2.7) 6 GB of RAM Raid 0 with a pair of 1TB SATA drives gigabit ethernet 1 GB of video RAM Just under $900.00

Those all seem to start around $1100 without the Raid 0 drive set up. Dell may be the cheaper way to go.. who knows.

Cakewalk's Sonar page says XP or Win 7 OS.. and suggests a faster Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.67 GHz/AMD Phenom Quad Core 9750 2.4 Ghz processor.

Church wants to add the Roland RSS multi track to our digital console and needs a PC to grab the 24+ tracks. They plan on sending the tracks to a local mixdown house so I also need to have a solution for pulling the files off the internal drive on to something portable. In that price range the Kia Sportage seems to be the only one that comes close in MPG. But I'm still several thousand dollars more in cost. I test drove two Compass models. Exactly how I remember it! (i went in for a 2nd surgery on 1 eye... What hurts is when they have to REOPEN the flap for a 2nd surgery) Lucky you got it right the first time. Enjoy it! My "dry eyes in the morning" lasted a year or two, then went away.

Musical buddies, what are you recording with at the gig? Years ago I hauled the tape deck out to the gig. After that, a palm sized minidisc recorder. Then I went to a rack mounted CD recorder. I'm eligible too but probably going to pass till the next version of the phone (for the same price). I have a functioning Droid now that gets me thru the work day just fine and I can't see spending the $ on an 8 month old iPhone.
