Yeah, MS's horse didn't win that standards race so it's not part of the default installs. You need to download the patch/add-on/whatever-they-call-it and go to the trouble of installing it to get it to support the current standard.by MEG - Tips and Deals
Don't know about dedicated apps (which there probably are) but I have used some presets for Aperture. Here's a link that should provide a start for getting some presets:by MEG - Tips and Deals
1st seen by me on Daring Fireball: In 1974, a Clevelander wrote the Browns complaining of the menace posed by the then-fad of throwing paper airplanes, and implicitly threatened litigation. The Browns' response is just about the most awesome thing ever committed to paper.by MEG - Tips and Deals

Cool Rob! The clouds were passing so I'm getting the same view down in DC. Inside to warm up a bit and then back out. NASA said peak would be at 3:17am and then the reversal begins.by MEG - Tips and Deals
My coworker's boyfriend's brother (I'm not making that up) supposedly gets his glasses/contacts with expired prescriptions from reputable places by gaming their delivery promises. E.g., he says he'd place his order right before a holiday almost guaranteeing no one will be available to verify the prescription like say this Thursday afternoon and come Monday, after they've been "waiting"by MEG - Tips and Deals

How much room is in the pocket that holds the iPad? The reason I ask is that I've got a Speck Candyshell on my iPad but would occasionally like to have a case like this when I take it on the road but would prefer to keep the candyshell on it (laziness on my part). Is there enough play that this case would hold the iPad with the shell?by MEG - Tips and Deals
QuotemiK. Could anyone please tell me how to edit the "blurbs" of info under the name on the profile page? There's items there that I don't mind showing friends via my info page, but don't need on my "home page" (high school, etc.) But that's what the new profile does. And as long as you have your privacy settings set accordingly, only your friends will see it. E.g., ifby MEG - Tips and Deals

iPad users will be able to print to the few printers that directly support AirPrint (something like 5 HP printers?) but the ability to print to other printers connected to Macs/PCs is what got axed. Still a major bummer if you don't have or want to buy a supported printer.by MEG - Tips and Deals

QuoteJimmypoo There is a possible exchange program for batteries that were part of the late 07 MacBooks depending on that info. Huh?!? Is there any more info on what the conditions are for the exchange?by MEG - Tips and Deals
QuoteJimmypoo Did that article show the results of that lens? Would be interested to see the results. Samples are on the original blog post:by MEG - Tips and Deals
As long as it's a USB video class (UVC) webcam it will be plug-in-play with Mac OS X 10.4.9 and above with a computer that has USB2 ports. Not sure if an iBook G3 has USB2 ports or if a UVC webcam will work with non USB2 ports.by MEG - Tips and Deals

The only way I know is to use a computer as an intermediary. You need to connect the camera to a computer (tethered or wirelessly if you have a Canon wireless transmitter) first and then run the DSLR Remote app on the computer and iPad/iPhone. You'll then have full control of the camera from your iPad/iPhone. A small netbook (Mini9?) might be small enough to tote along for non studio work (aby MEG - Tips and Deals
QuoteBobC Interesting idea, though. I don't think I could deal with having to enter the password each time. It wouldn't be each time, only the first time you send a message after you launch Mail. You'd have to quit Mail to get it to "forget" again before you send a 2nd email. Another trick would be to use a bogus smtp server as the default for the account so when you try to send yby MEG - Tips and Deals
