I have an iPhone 11 running iOS 13.3.1. Today, I inadvertently, moved all the emails in my inbox to the trash folder in Mail. I realized what I did and moved them back. For some reason, they all returned on my Mac Mini, my iPad Mini and my iPad but not all of them made it back to my iPhone. I'm missing the last three months of emails in my iPhone Mail inbox. Here's what I tried to get them toby magicmikey - Tips and Deals
Quotejdc on the cheap: $50 for case: $55 X 2 for drives: $160 for 6 TB RAID 0, with speeds over 300 MB/s R/W. Heres mine from 2016: and mrlynn -- if you already have a TM and nightly clone, then Id just go with a RAID 0 too. =) I got pretty excited by this and then I took a good look at it but the reviews on the RAID case are not very good. Quoteclay 4tb portable usb 3 hd - $70 Great deal but Staples has disabled the coupon code for technology so it won't give the $20 off. I was excited until I saw it wouldn't go through. Thanks for the tip, though.by magicmikey - Tips and Deals
Quotemrlynn I'm not a professional photographer, but I have a lot of photos and also audio files (from my radio show) that I plan to off-load from my iMac (2TB drive filling up). To this end, I just ordered an OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual RAID USB 3.1 for $85, plus 2 Toshiba 4.0TB X300 3.5" drives, $113 each. Total $275 plus tax. I plan to use the RAID enclosure in RAID 1 mode, which makeby magicmikey - Tips and Deals
Quotejdc Quotemagicmikey Ultimately, it comes down to whether I buy an OWC Mercury Elite or save some money and buy a WD My Book. Not sure why are you stuck on these 2 drives as your only choices. I guess I over recommended with a RAID (you mentioned "speed). If you are just going for the cheapest and/or slowest 4 TB drive you can find. I'd just get whatever. Although I do have plenty of drive options, I definitely want to buy one more 4TB external to be the one connected to the Mini at all times. Ultimately, it comes down to whether I buy an OWC Mercury Elite or save some money and buy a WD My Book. Quotedatbeme I'm in a similar situation as you—while I'm not a full-time pro, I also spend a lot of time in PS and LR, and my storage needs and internal SSD are nearly identical. First of all, mattkime and jdc know their stuff, so I'd start with their recommendations. But unless you are editing enormous quantities of RAW photos, you can probably get by with doing your short term work on theby magicmikey - Tips and Deals
Quotemattkime I'm fairly certain that you could swap the drive on the OWC enclosure but that WD drive _might_ be integrated with the hard drive in a terrible way. That said, you're right not to trust any HD. Sure, some are better than others but they all fail eventually. Do you move old projects off your laptop into some sort of archive setup? Might be worth considering doing that if you'reby magicmikey - Tips and Deals
I purchased a 2018 Mac Mini a little over a month ago. I ordered it with a 512GB SSD. I want to keep my applications and system on the SSD and put my data on an external hard drive. I thought I would follow up. I purchased the HooToo USB C Hub through Amazon. I've been using it for just over three weeks and it has worked better than I anticipated. I have two color inkjet printers and my drawing tablet connected to the USB ports and they've worked without any issues. I decided to connect a second monitor to my Mac Mini using the HDMI port on the USB C Hub. That has, also, worby magicmikey - Tips and Deals
Quotehal I avoid any product made by a manufacturer that does not have its own website. That's good thought. I did some checking and it turns out that HooToo (recommended by rj) is part of the same group as RAVpower so that carries some weight with me.by magicmikey - Tips and Deals
I took delivery of my new 2018 Mac Mini last week. I've been looking at different options for connecting my USB 2.0/3.0 peripherals since I have 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports and only two USB 3 ports. I ran across a multitude of USB C hubs on Amazon.com and this one, in particular, interests me: Are there any risks of damage to the port or the Mac Mini by using an inexpensive hub like this? Okay, I experimented yesterday. I worked in Lightroom, Photoshop and Bridge without Mail opened. After a while, I got the soft beep so it doesn't seem related to Mail. It only beeped once over a three to four hour time period. The search for an answer continues.by magicmikey - Tips and Deals
I do usually operate with Mail open. It never occurred to me that it might have something to do with Mail.by magicmikey - Tips and Deals

Quoterjmacs This is just the first indication that you really should have kept wearing your tin foil hat all along. The beep is coming from inside your skull, not inside the Mac Pro!! Thanks for the chuckle!by magicmikey - Tips and Deals
I have a Mid-2012 MacBook Pro that gives a single soft beep every now and then and I've been trying to track down the cause. My MacBook Pro has a 2.5 GHz processor and 16 GB of OWC RAM. My system is on an SSD and I have a second drive installed (Data Doubler.) Here's the history. I started having some random kernel panics about a year ago. I'm going to try it without DuetDisplay installed. I've had that suggested on more than one forum. If that doesn't isolate it, I'll start trying other things.by magicmikey - Tips and Deals

I have a 13" Mid-2012 MacBook Pro with a 2.5 GHz I5 processor and 16 GB of RAM running OS 10.10.3 using an internal SSD for the system and apps. I have been trying to download an instructional video for the last couple of days. It's 2.9 GB in size. Each attempt I made failed after getting to approximately 1.14 GB. So far, I've gone through everything but starting in Recovery Mode to repair the hard drive (although no errors have been reported by any of my utilities) and clean install. When booted in Safe Mode, the external hard drive unmounted nearly instantaneously so something in my system is causing the bog down when all is loaded. Now, it's a matter of figuring out what that is.by magicmikey - Tips and Deals
Ran Onyx (I had run it recently but did again just to see if it would help) and it is still the same. I'll have to look at the other options later. While I'd rather not go through a clean install, it may be the best option.by magicmikey - Tips and Deals
Quotespace-time Have you tried another user account? Okay, I wasn't able to log out earlier because I was in the middle of taxes. I just set up a temporary account and logged in. Ever since I upgraded to Yosemite (months ago), I've had a big slowdown in how long it takes for my MacBook Pro to unmount an external disk, flash drive or eject a CD/DVD. Okay, I just goofed up. I was having trouble getting email from my domain in Apple Mail. I am running Mavericks (10.9.2) and had been set up using POP for years.
