I'm in NYC now and they pay pretty well for starting salary. A friend of mine in the NYC Teaching Fellowship program is making $42,000 I believe. That is pretty much across the board for their high school starting salaries and if you're in the Fellowship program, you get your MA in Education paid for simultaneously. This is the main reason why I left Florida...people there have no sense whatsoever with the exception of the few who eventually leave out of frustration at all the idiocy. Also, they should pay people more so they don't have to resort to taking money from children. I had so many teachers growing up there who had night jobs because they couldn't afford to live on their salaries. That statby trisho. - Tips and Deals

Didn't you hear? Flushing is the new Chinatown. Seriously. There has really been a demographic shift of Chinese and Taiwanese over there in the past few years.
