QuoteBernie CBS doesn't care. They think they own it. In a way they do. This was Star Trek with pockets. Enterprise stayed true to the Star Trek I knew. A family show. The aliens were correct and well done. Discovery will prove to be as wrong as the new movies.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
"She insisted that she did not know him..." Curious comment. I wonder if his behavior would have differed if she admitted to knowing the perp. Hopefully, it would not have mattered, and he would have still defended the woman.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
Ugh! Looks exhausting. Need to catch my breath. Can't I just take a pill instead?by Billybob - Tips and Deals
Quotebazookaman ... The point is, like most things, Apple has removed your ability to choose. For the sake of thinness. This is nothing new. Apple has never been about choice. You either accept Apple's edicts of what is right or proper or you move on. I'm trying to decide now whether I can live with Apple's computer choices. I won't go the Hackintosh route (too unreliable), so I have to dby Billybob - Tips and Deals
Quotebillb QuoteLemon Drop ... Membership has been on decline, a fact the numbers can't deny. How many of those numbers because boys aren't allowed to be boys any more , who knows. I wouldn't want my kids to belong to an organization that is no longer allowed to protect them from child predators. What the hell does this mean? Are they requiring mandatory sex-change operations? QuoteRAMd®d Does Southwest use reserved seating now? They didn't years back, when I flew with them. And it always ticked me off the way a lot of people crammed carry-ons that should never have been passed. I put those people who put their 'carry-ons' in the front bins and head to their middle or rear seats (because they don't want to carry their bags a few feet) in the same category asby Billybob - Tips and Deals
Most current TS, including Wyndham, emphasis the ability to switch location (in fact, with W, you buy points, not a particular location). However, you still face maintenance fees. My BIL who has own TS for years has graciously tried to gift us a week from time-to-time. I think that we were able to successfully book just once because we never book early enough to get the location we desire.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
I had a poor experience with Adorama once (a $20-$30 dispute). Otherwise, excellent experiences with both B&H and Adorama over the past decade.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
Yes, this is a great camera. It got unfairly dinged because it doesn't have a second card slot, and 20MP of resolution instead of its predecessor's 24MP. I've never had a card fail me, and have found the second slot cumbersome, YMMV. I can't see the difference between 20 and 24MP--I don't think I'm unusual. However, the D7500 provides improved AF--many of D500's improvements--, a stby Billybob - Tips and Deals
Quotejonny QuoteAcer I like the minimalism of the Sony. The Canon looks bulky; the Nikon is a nice blend of the two that softens the hard edges of the Sony, but I'd still go Sony. Some more grist for the mill: I'm normally not a Ken Rockwell hater, but somehow in his comparisons, the Sony looks like the biggest of the 3 cameras. It's actually the smallest! And with his numerical ratingby Billybob - Tips and Deals
I don't actually care how they look. All three have acceptable appearances. However, the Sony is the most useful right now. Since I been primarily a Nikon shooter due to its image quality, I hope that Gen 2 or 3 of the Nikon Z will match or exceed Sony's level of efficacy.by Billybob - Tips and Deals

QuoteRacer X nope, THIS is a bad day Fallujah, Iraq During a special operative mission, Redman was struck by machine gun fire..... Nope, I disagree. Redman lived. Losing one's life trumps most injuries from which one survives. Both had bad days, but Barclay's was clearly worst.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
There is definitely a glitch in the Matrix. Why are the Astros...in the American League?by Billybob - Tips and Deals
Well, it's just one game. The Yankees are still alive. But can they win two in a row against the mighty Sox?by Billybob - Tips and Deals
QuoteSarcany QuoteBillybob The first season was quite good. I think you were watching a totally different show from the one that I saw. It was garbage. Cheats and shorthands substituting for plot and characterization, For the most part, any resemblance to Star Trek was coincidence. Plot holes, senseless devices introduced and then dropped, more maguffins than actors. The story was confusedby Billybob - Tips and Deals
Hmm, Here in North-Central Florida, we are on the border between hurricane and storm, so I suspect we will get a lot of rain. Hopefully, less so on the wind front.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
The first season was quite good. However, the ending and season wrap-up seemed rushed and contrived. If you can only have one, is it better to begin strong, or end strong? I'll watch Season 2, but I don't have high expectations.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
I'm going to give it a try. I've used LR for years (I actually like its capabilities), but it is far from a speed demon. This morning LR took about an hour to upload 900 photos. Capture One will get me high-res previews of those 900 in 10 minutes or less (I'm not thrilled with CapOne support; it keeps requiring me to activate my license, and no one seems to be willing to help me find a fix).by Billybob - Tips and Deals
QuoteOmbligo I fly with miles, last time the 1st class upgrade was about $100 more in equivalent miles than coach and gave us free bags. That effectively made the upgrade $50, now $40. Also, it makes sense to have airline cards. I think that the annual fee for my gold Delta AMEX card is $95. I just got it after dumping my platinum card (long story). A couple of trips pays for the card, whicby Billybob - Tips and Deals
I make contributions to Fidelity and T Rowe Price (403(b) and 457; they work the same as 401(k) contributions). When I hit the contribution limit the amount automatically stops. I'm not sure whether my employer or the vendor is keeping track. Regardless, I suspect Vanguard works the same. Also, a few years ago prior to the automatic accounting, I believe I exceeded the contribution limiby Billybob - Tips and Deals
I have the X, so no new iPhone for me (although the camera is intriguing...NO!). I do think that I'm going to finally bite on the new Watch. Not having to worry about my phone falling out on a ride, and being able to tell my wife that I'm going to be out a little longer without stopping and pulling out my phone is worth the high cost to me.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
You can thank me for part of the AAPL run up. I sold over half of my AAPL at $207 thinking that it was time for AAPL to pull back. I really do have to stop trying to time the market.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
To each their own. I'm more a hold and sit investor. Never been good at timing the market and paying all those short-term taxes is not for me. Aapl is still under 10% of my portfolio (okay, probably over 10% if I count my mutual funds that have AAPL in their holdings), so why change a good thing?by Billybob - Tips and Deals
Slovakian Congolese furtherest. I wish they had asked about getting suckered into these worthless surveys.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
Okay, you've sold me. I will not renew my subscription.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
Thanks for the share. I've been using TextExpander, and before that, SpellCatcher. Spell Catcher is defunct, and TextExpander is great, but it employs an expensive subscription model. What I love about TE is that it keeps my abbreviation database in the cloud, so I don't have to reenter abbreviations on every machine. But for this price, I might be willing to make that sacrifice.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
Quotejdc QuoteBillybob So is the iMac update coming? Most likely, but if they go with the same Intel chips, its an incremental upgrade, not revolutionary. If they pass down some of the features from the iMac Pro it could make them more of an upgrade -- like the faster drives and faster ram -- but that could also comprimise some things. (no more ugradeable ram) Unfortunately, loss of uby Billybob - Tips and Deals
So is the iMac update coming? I bit on the 2016 update because I thought my 2012 MBP was on its last leg. Apple store was able to revive it, so my 2016 MBP is doing duty (poorly) as my office desktop. I'm holding out for the 2018 iMac, which should last me to retirement.by Billybob - Tips and Deals
