One of my most successful friends recently sent the following to me. I want to pass this onto family members, but I first wanted to run it by here to see if anyone could add something to it. Here's the cut and paste from the email suggestions:

Let him eMail you first. If you eMail him first you'll be seen as "easy". If you don't hear from him, move on.
Good god. Well it's good to actually hear of the different opinions here, on how people would respond if the woman called first. It shows that you can not second-guess anyone as to how they'd react.

Joycee, if you have a picture, let us see it. Your desk sounds quite interesting.
I bought my desk from a friend a few years ago. He worked in a custom woodworking shop part time while he was in college and had built the desk for himself, but when he moved into his own place he sold it to me because it was too big for his new apartment.

Mac OS X 10.4 ships with Automator, a powerful workflow automation tool that lets you easily automate the operation of any AppleScriptable application. While Automator can control many applications right out of the box, it lacks the ability to automate Photoshop. For Photoshop control, you need The Photoshop Action Pack, which provides everything necessary to drive Photoshop CS and CS2 using Auto

At the first MacWorld I ever went to (around 1993), a desk manufacturer had a nice set up, and their top-of-the-line desk looked something like this:
That's not the exact one they had back then; it had an additional 6-inch raised part in that far right corner for the monitor(s). In any case, I bought it and had it shipped to Colorado. Still have it to date. Huge, includes a rollout drawer f

Looks like someone's figured out how to extract information from the serial number of your Mac.
If you go to this site, and then enter the serial number of your Mac (found under the Apple Menu: About this Mac: More Info: Hardware), it'll spit out a few pieces of info.
Not quite sure if there'd be any value to this, but there you go.

Just curious: is there any way to view all the code behind a Word doc? I still need to work with it now and again, and once in awhile, there are strange characters that show up that can't be deleted.
Is there a way to view into a Word doc, sort of like you can do with an html file?

Oh, realtor fees are SO negotiable!
I've sold 5 houses in the last 14 years, and aside from the one I sold without a realtor, my best realtor fee deal was 4%. So ask around. I would literally start all conversations with them with "I'm shopping around for a realtor who's willing to deal with their fees." Believe me, you'll find one who's hungry, and will go to town for your home.

For the past couple decades, my wife has worked on people with neurological damage due to bad desk and computing habits. If you've ever known/seen someone with these symptoms, you know that it can be quite debilitating. Living with her has kept me out of trouble. She wrote the following:

I'm using QuickBooks Pro 2005 (v7.0.1 R2).
Is there any way in QB to set up sub-items of an inventory item, so that when you use one of the sub-items, it reduces the amount of inventory in the master top item? As well as keep a running total of number of each sub-item sold.
Here's the scenario. I sell a book. I have 6,000 copies currently in inventory. It was co-authored by someone, and sh

Another cool tip, from :
If you know what you want is a mail message, you can narrow the search to just mail messages by adding a 'kind' descriptor to your search text, like this:
"Get Rich Quick kind:email"
- now only email messages will be returned in the search.
Other 'kinds' you can use are ' contact' and ' event'. Or, if you know roughly when you last used it, add a

With the new upgrade, Entourage is now Spotlight-able. However, there are a couple things you need to make sure you do in order to get it to work.
In System Preferences for Spotlight, make sure you have Apple "Mail" icon checked. I had mine unchecked (since I don't use Mail, and Entourage before yesterday wasn't searchable).
Also, just make sure you don't have your Microsoft User
