I need to export ONLY the email addresses of everyone in a Custom View (about 1600) and export them into a text doc separated only by a comma.
Is there a script or method out there that will do that?
I'm working in Entourage 2004.

I've never been clear on whether or not this kind of email format:
Herman Munster <Herman@Munster.com>
... can be used in all modern email programs successfully, as well as in email fields (when filling out forms online).
Does anyone know if this carrot-bracketed format is allowed always, or just randomly, or how that works.

elmo, that's the first funny you've ever posted. I had no idea curmudgeons had a sense of humor.
I'm still laughing at that.

What is the easiest method for printing labels from a selected group of Entourage 2004 contacts (there are 1,600 of them). I recall an AppleScript that helped with this, but in checking around, the only one I could find was for OS 9.
Is the Word "Data Merge Manager" still the best method?

Yes, it's a sign of a general downturn of society as a whole.
Either that, or it's simply a method some of us use to keep our Macs running well. It's mainly for those who don't know a lot of the underlying technology in computers, but nonetheless make their living from them.

Good move, Grateful, especially if it's been years since it was done. I've basically done the same thing about every 2 years, and every time I cuss the process before I do it, and thank the process afterwards.
My suggestions:
* aside from docs, images, and a few other things, don't copy anything over.
* Rebuild even your User account.
* Reinstall every application from a new .dmg,

Spam has finally caught up with me, and Entourage 2004 (v 11.2.1.) is no longer able to catch a lot of the new-fangled stuff. So I'm trying out Spam Sieve. Couple of questions:
1. Spam Sieve's two main scripts— Train Good, and Train Spam— have default keyboard shortcuts as Control-Command G and S (respectively), but those keyboard commands aren't triggering the scripts. I'd like to try c

A Mac geek friend of mine who rarely puts any new utilities into his Macs has become smitten with Path Finder. No longer uses the Finder. Just curious if any other fans are out there.

Dogs eat grass because they need to purge. They know instinctively that the grass, at that moment, is exactly what they need. Grass is extremely high in chlorophyll, one of the stronger blood purifiers in nature.
Given that most dogs are fed an extremely processed diet, very similar to crackers and spam, they need every access to raw food that they can get ahold of, even if it's just grass.

Just read it in this morning's paper. Very nice indeed. It'll go into the new 29th Street Mall.
Also another coming just down the road, at FlatIrons Mall.

I recall on some printer dialog boxes that you can sometimes narrow the margin along a 8x11-inch page so that ink/text can run closer to the edge. Is this a function of ones Mac, or of each particular printer? My Xerox 6250 color laser is a great printer, but one edge will not print any closer than 5/8th. I want to try and expand that, but can't see any option that describes this.

My non-tech artsy sister has an arty project that she wants to put online, called the SheProject. I have enough skill to get her the domain, and a basic website up so she could see what one way to do it might look like:
She's very excited, and now wants a way to be able to update the site herself, mainly:
1. Load both a thumbnail and the larger images up on the side in an easy way.

I've been asking how-to questions to many of you for years, first over at Dealchat, and now here. While plenty of these Q&As were just interesting and fun to do for someone who runs an home-based office, most of them in fact dealt with trying to forward my business and dreams and vision.
Well, every once in awhile the vision becomes reality, and yesterday, the first 6,125 copies of my thi

Ok: via Pacifist, I was able to rougly extract each of the components on the iLife DVD. I say roughly because some of them said they were extracting but never did. I solved the problem by further opening up each of those folders and extracting smaller bits of each of them, one at a time.
I then tested to see if what I had extracted were actually open-able apps, and it looked like they each op

Glad you're getting off teflon.
It's tough to beat Amazon's prices on stainless steel cookery. For free shipping, you just have to make sure that it's an Amazon-carried item, not one of their third-party companies.

iLife '06 just arrived, and I now want to back it up onto a DVD.
However, it's about 6.25 gigs, bigger than one DVD. How do I back it up onto 2 DVDs, using Toast 6.1.1? Anyone ever done this?

Ok, after finally calling the manufacturer of the iSight MacFlex, and asking how to extend the length of their firewire cable, they said the only sure way of keeping a signal strong is with a Firewire Repeater, such as this one from Belkin:
They said that any non powered extensions will generally drop signal and not work after awhile. In any case, I bought one from Amazon. Hopefully

tuqqer's non-med advice: come eat at my home for 2 weeks. Take no meds, just eat my food. It's nothing special or magical, just mainly whole grains, whole veggies, whole fruit, about 5-10% made up of organic meats, a few eggs, non-pasteurized fermented foods, miso soups and stews, a bit 'o green tea. No take-out, no flour products, no white sugar, no candy, no preservatives, no crap animal foods,

In DreamWeaver 8.01, I'm no longer able to drag the "Point to File" dragger in the Porperties palette to any file. It just doesn't drag. I am able to use the the folder icon method (right next to it), but no draggy thingie.
