We use these at work with HVAC systems and other USB licensed dongles for remote PCs. Not cheap. I'm also not sure what kind of magic you would need to do to get it to work over the WAN vs LAN. This also might be an option but I have no experience with it:by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I'm in my 40s and get leg cramps at night. Wonder if this would help.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I keep a few spares in my truck as well. I'd lend one out in a heartbeat to someone stranded. Nothing is more unsafe than being on the side of a highway. I switched all my pins over to this style: Almost impossible for it to fall out unlike the clip style that wear out. Also don't have to worry about losing the clip.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
QuoteRAMd®d Tainted beef... It's out there, somewhere? At some restaurants? So I guess it's fish until a suitable time passes? Or just buy from a local farmer or FSA?by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Nice, but is is about 3x the price of a normal wooden ladder.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I'm amazed that there are 600 people who do Tech for the NYT. I hope that they don't find themselves out of a job. There are thousands of out of work tech people from the West coast still looking for jobs, or worse, plenty of very good programmers overseas.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Should be done the same as electrical. This is the way:by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
QuoteBill in NC Quotedavemchine I have a 2017 4Runner with 59k miles on it. I get a whining sound when accelerating and the dealership has identified the problem as bearings in a serpentine belt tensioner. It's a fairly expensive repair at $1200 (including new belt). They made out like I shouldn't drive the car much till it was fixed but they act like that if my air filters are dirty too. What doby C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I think that is a vehicle setting? Mine does the same layout that was used last in that particular vehicle, not the same thing in every car.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Try using the AJA Disk Test and see what you get for numbers running it against that share: There could be many things impacting the data transfer speed you get.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
QuoteTheTominator QuoteDewGuy Since the Apple M1, M2, M3, M4 have RAM as part of the chip, what happens if/when it fails? RAM fails, computer dies. Buy another Mac and load data from backup drive. Quotedavemchine I've never used it but I know Infuse is popular. . I didn't recognize any of the others listed. VLC really is the gold standard of general media players. VLC is the gold standard. Unfortunately, I'm assuming for legal reasons it cannot be in the Mac app store. It also is probably questionable for a public entity to deploy given it's shaky legal stature.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Does anyone know if there is a good alternative to VLC that is in the Mac App Store? I'm trying to do a new deployment and limiting the apps down to only ones that are available in the Mac App Store to keep the amount of manual labor and updating to a minimum.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Pretty sweet. I put in an order for one for testing. I replaced $1000 PCs with the M3 version this year. Saved 50% and a much better user experience and support experience. These things are a game changer.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I have a fleet of M1 128GB/8GB models. They are fine for everyday basic use including Canva, social media, email, web browsing, Office apps, etc. when combined with Google Drive/One Drive for additional storage.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
You need the Dell Thunderbolt Dock. The USB-C version only supports one monitor on the Macs.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
QuoteDeusxMac That sample photo appears to be trim-moulding-like PVC. If so, it was probably extruded to that profile, or the manufacturer produces so much that they have a custom cutting head for that shape. It is wood of some nature and a bunch of coats of latex paint.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I have some existing cabinets that have a styled edge on them that I assume was done with a router bit. I'm adding another cabinet and need to cut the square door and drawer to match. I can't figure out how to even begin figuring out what router bit to purchase to make the same cut. Any ideas? Here is a photo of a drawer front.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Quotechopper Anything and anyone is better than Network Solutions and or Go Daddy. Ns is true evil. What's wrong with Network Solutions other than the price? I have all my managed domains under them, no issues here.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I don't have a suggestion for a company, but if possible I would get them appraised, by a professional recognized company in writing, where they are at so you have something to justify value if they go missing or are damaged. Make sure they are insured for the full value not just as "furniture".by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
They are either paying their employees pennies per hour or they are only making thousands, not zillions. This is the work for robots these days if you are doing zillions. Somewhere in the 10-100k quantity mark is where it is cheaper to automate than to do assembly by hand even in countries where the labor cost is minimal.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
With the "new" standard agreed upon and Tesla opening their network you are going to see a lot more of this. We are going to end up with a handful of providers most likely. Tesla, ChargePoint, Electrify America, and Blink are going to end up being the only games in town for Commercial charging. I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years it is Tesla and a single other that is a conglomerby C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I decided this year that the price/value for Lithium UPSs makes more sense then replacing batteries in the older units and replaced all our older UPSs with Lithium models. Most of the models that didn't ship with a lithium battery will not properly maintain a lithium replacement as the charging profiles are different.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I only have Sirius setup on one car. All the rest we just use Carplay and the Sirius app.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Sweet deal if you can find it for a basic 3D printer. Get you hooked and then you can start spending Bambu money.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Check and see if there is a firmware update available for the Bother. Apple added a requirement for printer drivers to be signed with a valid certificate to be able to print. Most likely that brother printer doesn't have one.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I would do an export out of both the old and the new firefox of the saved passwords into a CSV file. Then take a look at the two files and see what is different. With some luck you might be able to change the older CSV to be able to be imported once you know what it is looking for.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Interesting. Is that in stores somewhere? I like it is zero sugar....by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Your fine, I just don't like the taste of metal in my mouth or the hardness of it so I go with the silocone tops. I had a coffee at an upscale place today and they had glass! straws. Still didn't like it, too hard.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I've had a handful out of my fleet with the same problem. Less than 1% of our total fleet, but it is also the most common failure we are seeing. Replacing the USB-C board has fixed them thus far.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
