I'll be the poster child for what not to do and we will see how long mine lasts. I charge to 100% every night and routinely go down to 10% or below. Also DC fast charge a good amount. Basically, everything they say you aren't supposed to do I'm doing on a regular basis. It is also cold here more often than it is hot, and it said the 80% thing doesn't matter if it is cold outside.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

QuoteN-OS X-tasy! Quotedk62 Just to be clear - those are TCL TVs sold under licensed Pioneer name. Pioneer exited the TV market 14 years ago, after making amazing plasmas. It's sad to see what has become of the vaunted Pioneer brand in the TV space. I was just going to google and see who makes Pioneer now. The TCLs aren't bad, but the deal turns more lukewarm than hot knowing what it is.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

Oakland’s only In-N-Out will serve its last double-double on March 24 after more than 18 years in operation at 8300 Oakport Street, the burger restaurant’s chief operating officer Denny Warnick confirmed with SFGATE in an emailed statement Sunday. Warnick described the store as “busy and profitable” for the company, and drive-thru lines during the dinner rush often stretched all the wby C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

QuoteOmbligo Chief mechanics are going to against EV for the simple reason that it would mean laying off most of their diesel mechanics. No one likes giving up their little kingdom, especially when it is filled with friends and family. Not a good reason, but a realistic one. Local delivery routes are perfect for EV trucks. Low total miles, all in town at low speeds, they sit all night and can charge. Nothing not to like for that use case. The total cost of ownership should show a significant savings. For commercial/industrial areas the power infrastructure is already there. 1300A 480V service is commonly available and you could easily install transformer, breaby C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
There are used engines in the 100-120k mile range for around $2500. Brand new rebuilds with 3Yr/36k mile warranty for $4k. It is not another $5k in labor to swap that engine. Should be able to get it done for $4k to $6k out the door at an independant shop. Still not sure it is worth it though....by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

Quotemattkime QuoteC(-)risThought it would be a few days tops, not a few months. Was that a few months to schedule an electrician? Correct, between getting quotes and getting one scheduled. Also took a few weeks to get initial contact from the Power Company(Xcel) who is subsidizing the charger to find out their requirements and prefered contractor.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Quotegadje So glad I have full service for the gas car and that I can charge in the garage at home for the other.. I have a gas car (Truck) as well, but at 11mpg I'm trying to drive it only when I actually need the truck or when we need two cars due to scheduling. I would absolutely not be comfortable with an EV as my only car, or two EVs. At least one of them would need to be a hybrid. I'mby C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
I'm holding off on posting my latest Bolt review since I still don't have adequate charging at my residence. Was scheduled for Monday and the electrician said it was too cold to work, rescheduled for Monday which looks to be warmer. I will say that charging and range has been rough with the cold and I've wasted more hours than I care to admit at charging stations this month. The 120V charging aby C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
Quotemattkime QuoteC(-)ris Went with the least expensive flat rate. Did you come out ahead? They didn't start yet....too cold. Rescheduled for next Monday. The tricky part is they need to pull permits, pay the inspector fee, etc. I know what the BOM should be around $800-$900 in parts. That leaves them around $800 in labor which is probably less than 8 hours. I believe they have to gby C(-)ris - Tips and Deals
VW has the same problem on many models. I had to do a front crank seal on a 2.8L Passat that blew out because the PCV was clogged. Using a catch can is a good fix, or drilling a bigger hole.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

Quotemattkime Does anyone feel like they're in a high covid area? A couple of months ago I heard of one covid case near me. (I'm sure there's more, thats just what I was specifically aware of) As the headlines have emphasized the current covid wave, I know of no one. The updates also no longer require an admin account. I've had students upgrade most of the machines in my computer labs without being able to do anything about it. I gave up and just updated them all. Which I think is what Apple wants everyone to do, keep upgrading.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

That may be true in theory, but brake rotors are generally sized for the smallest wheel option that is available for a particular vehicle. It is purely for looks. There is no performance or ride quality improvements going to a bigger wheel and smaller tire. You don't see NASCAR or F1 running 20" wheels. That should tell you something. 17" is usually considered the sweet spot.by C(-)ris - Tips and Deals

Quotehal QuoteAllGoldWhat really bothers me is rent. That was purely opportunistic gouging by landlords and big housing management companies; there was no significant effect on their costs for units already built, they just raised rents because they could. that's how capitalism works - what are ya... some kinda commie??!!
