Got mine this morning at the Stanford Apple store.
Son got in line at 4:30 am - 4th in line. I arrived at 7am. They didn't have any Verizon models in Silver or Gold, so we both got Space Gray.
Bonus: We got a picture with Phil Schiller & Eddie Cue!
Had the boy text it to me:

Side note - the $10 dailysteals lightning (ahem!) cables I posted about here are definitely legit.
Of the 8 we got, 1 was intermittent, and the Apple store swapped it out. Rest are working great.
They no longer list these on their website, but they do have them on ebay:

Yes, the new configuration will not work. The AirPort Extreme has to be directly connected to the cable modem, then switch needs to be downstream from the airport.
You could opt for a cheap second switch that is downstream from the airport and connect your other devices to it. If you do this, then leave your current wiring, but disconnect everything from the first switch except for the Airport

What Gilbert said.
It has been very stable here as well. Not really having any issues with the 40 or so apps I regularly use.

Verizon IPhone 5 does not support the AT&T LTE bands. Pretty sure not even the Tmobile ones either. I realize that's not abig issue for you as it will work 3G/"4G", but just wanted to point it out.

I keep the iPhone on vibrate which I sleep right through emails, texts etc. The Alarm still rings loudly irrespective of the vibrate switch position.
I also leave the do not disturb setting on every night. Why would you want to toggle it nightly?

Anyway, my wife has an iPhone 4 and I'm thinking about upgrading her to a 5C. Since this new phone will be setup after the aforementioned deadline, we will not have ActiveSync for GMail.
Pretty sure if you backup your iPhone to iTunes and then setup the 5C and restore from backup, you won't lose ActiveSync on the GMail.
Protip: If you encrypt your iTunes backup, you won't need

My buddy has ordered from Daily Steals before and has had good Customer Service and believes these will be legit Apple cables.
I ordered a couple. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Nice. I've been using the Natural 4000 keyboard for at least 5 years now. I'll have to give this one a test drive once it hits Staples.

We got one a few weeks back and it's been great. I'd recommend skipping the i7 and instead go for the 256 GB SSD. Definitely go for the 8 GB RAM.

QuoteBill in NC3. super portable compared to ATV/Roku - will much easier to take along when traveling (all you need is a usb port on the tv)
It is? I think Chromecast's external power supply and wiring make it a PITA compared to the Apple TV.
Yes, it is. Vast majority of the installs only need the Chromecast and the USB cable to plug into the TV.

I like these 3 innovative features:
- "Ok Google Now" handsfree mode - once you get past the creepy aspect of it always listening for the trigger command, it is a great way to command the phone or search for queries.
- OLED notifications - As OLED pixels only consume power when lit, a tiny portion of the screen can be lit without wasting power lighting the rest of the screen.

So I take a video with my phone and want to show it on my TV through my ChromeCast device. What is the process for that?
Thus far no built in process. 3rd party devs have already created an app to exactly that, though not release

So Nokia & AT&T just released the Lumia 520 for $99 off contract -
Now this is a pretty low end phone, but $99 is a great price. Heck I'm tempted to get one for offline GPS use.
As for Apple, they charge what the market will bear. Consider Verizon's most recent quarter:
- 51% of Smart Phones sold are iPhones
- Almost 50% of the iPhones sold are the lower end 4/4S. Plenty of peop

Other than Hulu, are there any other channels that you have a charge to watch? Well, subscription to Netflix, OK.
Most of them in addition to Hulu & Netflix:
Amazon Prime (Prime Sub), MLB, NBA, NHL, HBO Go, Watch ESPN, Crunchyroll and Quello and many others niche ones.

I would suggest a Roku as your best bet to stream media from a linux server.
If your current video media is in MP4 (M4V) format and you can you can run an iTunes server (Mac or PC), then an Apple TV may make sense.
Both Roku & Apple TV will handle Netflix and Hulu+ equally well. Also keep in mind Hulu+ is the paid version only, not the free Hulu available on a PC.

While I have no interest in the device itself, I wonder how it works with peple (like me) who wear glasses. Or is that part of the whole "You are not the target audience" thing?
My son, who has glasses, just wears this over them. It works as the device extends further than your glasses.

and I can safely say this will thankfully never go mainstream.
My son brought home a Google Glass for a few days from his internship. He's going to be programming for it a bit.
Anyway, we all gave it a test drive despite the robotic looks. The voice recognition is pretty much Android and even works offline (wish some aspects of SIRI worked offline).

is he working yet? I think you have to have earned income to qualify for a retirement fund.
Hope your son has earned income corresponding to the $500 monthly match you're providing.
This is a great head start for sure. I've done similar and matched my teen son's income into a custodial Roth IRA for the past few years.
