Apple Leather case. Slim, protective, grippy, stylish.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Wow, talk about timing. I had the exact same problem "Service Battery" on my mid-2012 MBA. I had ~250 cycles & only about 65% of original battery capacity. The MBA battery would only last about 3-4 hours. No Apple care warranty. I scheduled a Genius Bar appt at the Apple Store. Took it in yesterday. The Genius checked it out and without any questions said they'd replace it wiby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

Quotejdc Quotespace-time Quotejdc I have a wifi garage door opener, does that count? I think it does !!! does it send you a warning if someone opens the door, or if the door doesn't fully close for example? It has alerts for opening and closing, via push noitification or email. Tells me how long its been open/closed for -- so Im assuming if it doesnt close the little icon will say its opeby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

We preordered a T-mobile iPhone 6S at full price and were immediately able to put a VZW SIM in with no issues. I'd be very surprised if Apple requires any activation for this.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Have you tried changing away from Open DNS & using the Comcast default DNS? Would suggest changing DNS on both your router & Apple TV and rebooting both. This will either implicate / not any potential CDN issues with Open DNS. I know they've improved this but would be worth a test. Background:by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Wow, another beautiful new Apple Campus. Sure looks nice, but this will further worsen the traffic problems here.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Quotebazookaman That's all well and good but most sites nowadays use your email as the username. I can't remember when I registered somewhere that didn't. While I still generate strong passwords with 1Password I cannot come up with a new email address for every site I register with. Agreed, for sure. But I try to mitigate even this with separate email addresses: - Low priority - forums, ranby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Sorry, trying not to sound preachy... Do you reuse your username and/or password on multiple accounts? This can make hacking simpler for the bad guys. Try to use a unique username & password everywhere. Start using 1password or any other password managers to keep track.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

Besides my son, I have at least 5 co-workers who wear an Apple watch. But even outside work, you'll see both Apple watches & the various Android watches commonly worn in the South Bay.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
We got an $80 Coolaroo exterior window shade and it has been very effective to keep our living room cooler with the evening sun. I attached a couple of "balloon" weights to the bottom which have helped to keep it from flapping in the wind thus far.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
6s speed benchmarks galore here: Looks like in addition to the raw CPU/GPU increase of the A9 & 2GB RAM, the NAND storage is also much faster. QuoteApple has integrated a mobile storage solution that I haven’t seen in any other device yet, and the results suggest that they’re ahead of just about every other OEM in the industry here by a significant amount. No issues with folders here- everything was put back in the right locations. It definitely feels heavier and much faster. Have to get used to 3D Touch, but is slick.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

Yep, 1997. Back in the dealchat days before login was required. Think I came across it on some Usenet posts? This was before MacSurfer linked to Dealmac. This must've been when I was using my 1st Mac LC 475, before I bought the Motorola Starmax 4000.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
I'm sure others will have more complete suggestions, but: 1. Check how much free disk space. If less than 15 GB free, either free up more space, or get a bigger disk. 2. Check HD SMART status. Download a free utility that reads the SMART status to tell if a drive is failiing 3. Run adware medic (google it) to clear up any hidden malware 4. Create a fresh user login. See if slowness peby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
QuoteSpeedy behaveshp, everyone looks so young, didn't you feel a bit out of place? Thanks for the pics! Haven't you heard? Silicon Valley is a bit like Logan's Run, everyone over 50 is asked to leave. I get my walking papers next year...by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Follow up to: Finally getting to share the One Infinite Loop Apple Store opening photos. Was a busy weekend dropping off both kids to their different Universities (empty nest, woo-hoo & cry). As usual, Apple really treats us line-waiting minions well - Free food, water, coffee, sunscreen, umbrellas to use. I loved the coffee backpack. Inside was a party, and more lines. Actually 2nd line, got through the 1st line to get into the store. Now in line to buy logo swag. Got the free T-shirts. Supposedly the new store is a model for changes in design that will roll out to the others. One Huge screen showing the new iPhones. Tons of local Apple geeks and employees. No execs this time.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Good point. I've seen articles that point out current "4k" streaming content is about equivalent to a 1080p Blu-Ray in picture quality. I'll probably pick up a 4k Blu-Ray player at some point for true 4k content.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Will definitely be interesting how this plays out, but CNet is among the worst offenders - uBlock blocked 24 links & Privacy Badger blocked 42 on my example page!by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Quotepinkoos I read yesterday (but can't track the link down right now) that he made about $25K (after Apple's 30% cut) in the first day the app was available. Ah, my guess was off by a "0" Classy, that he encourages & links to getting a refund from the App store as well.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Marco felt guilty and removes it from sale: Wow, he probably made $250k in the past two days since it went on sale. But interesting perspective on it.. At least there will be others to fill the void.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
