Marco felt guilty and removes it from sale: Wow, he probably made $250k in the past two days since it went on sale. But interesting perspective on it.. At least there will be others to fill the void.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

I wonder if the 4k support extends to Netflix & Youtube, in addition to Amazon Prime. Speaking of which, what 4k content does Amazon have? Now I just need my 7 year old LED based DLP TV to die, so I can justify a new TV Edit: Answering my own question based on the Amazon product link at the top: QuoteEnjoy TV episodes and movies in 4K Ultra HD including classic movies like The Waby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
QuoteRAMd®d So is any 6s-series now good on any carrier's network? See here: and here: - AT&T models A1633/34 have the most radios including AT&T specific Band 30 - VZW, Tmo, Sprint models A1687/88 just look to lack LTE Band 30 All have CDMA & GSM radios. However, looks like Sprint will only allow Apple factory unlocked or Sprint iPhones. =========== As an annual VZby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
MG Siegler has a great write up on Apple TV gaming (written two days ago!): [500ish.com] Worth a read.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Apple is not positioning the new Apple TV to compete against the full blown console systems, so they've positioned the device at a much lower price point for the much larger "casual" gamer market ala the Wii. I'm guessing it is probably close to the PS3 in performance, but of course much more power efficient. The choice of using an A8 chip vs A9 obvious: purely monetary, maintainingby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Might want to check this Apple note about iPhone 5 T-mobile AWS band compatability: Are your iPhone 5's model A1428 or A1429? Probably T-mobile repurposed one of the LTE bands leading to the current issue.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

QuoteOmbligo I've been thinking about it as well. I'm only about 10% AAPL, but it has been pretty flat on YTD. I can't decide if it has gone flat or if the manipulators are just having a busy year. Including dividends, it is up 5.7% YTD vs 2.5% for the market. Of course it was up 20% YTD until earnings report a few weeks back.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
QuoteBillybob Is that pre-stock-split 100 shares or post? If pre then you should be in good shape for college indeed. Pre-split. Looked it up - Bought Jan 2007, cost basis $17 per share, 576% gain. Though I've been selling shares for each of the past 5 years, it is still a big % of their college UTMA accounts. Good problem to have...by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
QuotePaul F. Oh, it does... but it also just keeps going UP... Not a permanent state of affairs, probably, but it makes hitting the "sell" button and paying the capital gains harder. I sold a few shares last year, so I'm probably below 50% now, but still... And hey, it didn't start OUT being so much! That's a net positive, right? Ha, definitely a positive. Actually, confession..by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Wow, having 60% of my portfolio concentrated in a single volatile stock would make me nervous. That is very high Risk / Reward. Then again, I finally saw the light (Bogleheads) about 3 years ago, when my AAPL holdings had grown to 15%. I've since scaled back to 5% and will continue to diversify. Short term, I expect China to continue to effect AAPL, but seasonally speaking fall / winter hby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Eh, I forgot to apply mine to my iMac bought in Jan 2013. They let me apply it this February when the HD crapped out. I was sweating, no doubt.. but they were very relaxed about it.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

SW & HW engineering interns are getting paid $30+ an hour here in SF/Valley. Not just Google / FB / Intel, but even smaller startups. Of course, they are all looking to hire top talent for six-figure starting pay jobs. The hard part is finding affordable shared housing (or living with the parents).by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

I'd recommend a trial run on Linux using a USB Flash drive to boot. I have an ancient 2 GB Windows Vista (gasp) laptop that runs great under Linux. Supposedly many Linux distros will work fine with Netflix using Chrome 37 or later. My favorite Linux lightweight distro is Elementary which has a nice Mac OS X skin, but it doesn't include Chrome by default. I'd recommend Linux Mint:by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

My son will be ordering a 42mm Stainless Steel with a Milanese loop. He's already played with & programmed on one (Invited to Apple) so it is a bit anticlimatic. But he's excited in any case. Me, I'll be sleeping.. Mehby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
The HD interface is definitely a bit cluttered, but you'll get used to it quickly. A good thing is that the Roamio is much more responsive in navigating the menus. I know the premiere has quite a bit of lag when using the HD interface. Also if you're eligible, you should try for the 10 year $500 lifetime deal which is apparently ongoing but you'll have to call in for it:by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
