Apple is not positioning the new Apple TV to compete against the full blown console systems, so they've positioned the device at a much lower price point for the much larger "casual" gamer market ala the Wii. Might want to check this Apple note about iPhone 5 T-mobile AWS band compatability: Are your iPhone 5's model A1428 or A1429? Probably T-mobile repurposed one of the LTE bands leading to the current issue.

Wow, having 60% of my portfolio concentrated in a single volatile stock would make me nervous. That is very high Risk / Reward. Then again, I finally saw the light (Bogleheads) about 3 years ago, when my AAPL holdings had grown to 15%. I've since scaled back to 5% and will continue to diversify. Short term, I expect China to continue to effect AAPL, but seasonally speaking fall / winter h

Eh, I forgot to apply mine to my iMac bought in Jan 2013. They let me apply it this February when the HD crapped out. I was sweating, no doubt.. but they were very relaxed about it.

Yep, my Fusion 3 TB drive was giving SMART errors a few months back. Thankfully had AppleCare and got it swapped out. Thank goodness for Super Duper.

We use Square Cash via email - no fees. Need to link your debit cards on either end of the transaction. Has worked flawlessly for many transactions.

SW & HW engineering interns are getting paid $30+ an hour here in SF/Valley. Not just Google / FB / Intel, but even smaller startups. Of course, they are all looking to hire top talent for six-figure starting pay jobs. The hard part is finding affordable shared housing (or living with the parents).

I'd recommend a trial run on Linux using a USB Flash drive to boot. I have an ancient 2 GB Windows Vista (gasp) laptop that runs great under Linux. Supposedly many Linux distros will work fine with Netflix using Chrome 37 or later. My favorite Linux lightweight distro is Elementary which has a nice Mac OS X skin, but it doesn't include Chrome by default. I'd recommend Linux Mint:

The HD interface is definitely a bit cluttered, but you'll get used to it quickly. A good thing is that the Roamio is much more responsive in navigating the menus. I know the premiere has quite a bit of lag when using the HD interface. Also if you're eligible, you should try for the 10 year $500 lifetime deal which is apparently ongoing but you'll have to call in for it:
