I found that, but it had "lock file" after it. I deleted it, but it didn't do the trick either. I created a new account, and didn't delete the old one. I can now send from the new account, but when I put the same settings in the old account, it won't work. Crazy!

Thanks for the suggestions, but it is still not working. I'm wondering what will happen if I delete the account and create a new one. Will I lose my mail from that account?

I tried that. Still no good. I guess I'll have to call Mediacom tomorrow and see if they can help. I'm not very optimistic.

When the dialog box came up, I chose to send the Mediacom email using iCloud to see if that would work. Otherwise, it is still trying to use the Mediacom setting. I will have to go to the mediacom site to check their settings. Since I didn't change anything knowingly when it stopped, I'm stumped.

I already have those settings in place, and have checked that box.

That didn't fix it. I did have a new outgoing server appear now, however. It has an iCloud identification for my .mac address. That was not there before. I can now send using that as my outgoing server, but that's now what I want. I want to use my Mediacom account for that. Any other ideas?

I could this morning, and all of a sudden, I kept getting the dialog that said mail couldn't be sent with selected server. This happens on my Mini and on my MBP. Both 10.8.2. I can send with the same account on my iPad on wifi, and my wife can send on her Macbook Air. What happened?

None of these things worked. We went to Des Moines today, and tried activating there. No luck. Went to the Apple store, and got help, but they couldn't activate it either. They told us that the cellular radio was shot, and that they would sell us a new iPad 2 for $250. We didn't do it. The wifi part works just fine, and that's what we use most. I don't know if we made a poor choice or not. What d

Problem on Safari continues - 10 years ago

I have posted about the problem with my mini and Safari on Mountain Lion. Everything works fine for a while, and then I am unable to enter text in a box like the one I'm typing in now, or like the ones on Facebook. I can get about two letters in, and then nothing. I've tried all of the suggestions posted in this thread: Safari works just fine for a while, then I can't enter text in a box such as the one I'm writing in now, then all of a sudden, I can only enter a letter or two and nothing else. In these cases, I get a report error page from Apple. It also loads pages slowly. If I kill the process in Activity Monitor, that part improves for a while.

What others said about seeing a doctor is good advice. I felt fine after a similar experience, but ended up with some major neck problems. See a doctor. Their insurance company will pay for it, and you should get something for pain and suffering if you are in pain.
