Also, I forgot. I have a burner tool that burns a hole in the carts. I fill and then cover with duck tape. I have a couple extra burner tools if you want one- I could ship it to you for just the cost of shipping. If you drill, you need to make sure you don't get any plastic filings in the cart, or make sure you get them all out before filling. Let me know.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I do it all the time with our copier at church. Ours is a Canon and uses the E40 cart. As a matter of fact, I just got an order of 8 bottles (enough for 8 refills) in the mail today. It has saved us a ton of money. Here is the company I use. I've ordered probably 50 refills from and never a problem. They are on eBay but also have their direct number. Here's the link to my last auction purchby celliott - Tips and Deals
I'm looking at the now discontinued AirPort Extreme Base Station that is available for $99 as an Apple refurb. Other than the 802.11n, what are the real differences (I'm pretty much a novice on the wireless stuff). Can a USB hub or USB HD be attached to the USB port on the old model? Those are both mentioned as features of the new model? The refurb model has the internal modem as well as the eby celliott - Tips and Deals

Just wanted to let you all know. Roxio is selling some MacWorld software bundles of its newly released Toast Titanium 8 software. If you want to upgrade the software only, it's $99 with a $20 rebate. However if you go to www.roxio.com/macworld, you can see some offered bundle specials. I hate rebates, so I decided to download one of their bundles- Toast 8 with XingTones 5 (a ringtone converby celliott - Tips and Deals
I was one who bit and bought three of the cheapy speaker systems. Like others, I e-mailed my complaint. I got the same e-mail as others stating that they were issuing a credit and that I could keep, donate or throw away the speakers. Well, imagine my surprise this morning when I receive an e-mail from OD. I get an apology, they state they have corrected the erroneous description (but they stilby celliott - Tips and Deals
Many thanks rgG. I sent them the e-mail. I just got my order- they really are unbelievably cheap. Looks like we might get a mini-plug to mini-plug cable out of the deal, that's about it though. Can you believe what they are passing off as a docking station?by celliott - Tips and Deals
Would you mind sharing the content of the e-mail you sent? You obviously were effective with your e-mail- my three are due to arrive this afternoon. I'm sure I won't be anymore pleased than the rest of you. Thanksby celliott - Tips and Deals
I'm probably too late to help on this one, but go to this website- excellent pictures and a screw guide included. It has a downloadable manual so you don't have to stay online to do it. For an iBook G4:by celliott - Tips and Deals
Well, everything is set up and running just "snappy". I haven't been able to do much yet, but what a nice machine. I've been using Macs since 1986, starting with a Mac 512Ke. I paid around $2000 for that one used. I've had multiple Macs since then, they just get better. I am a Pastor and am using it at my office at the church. I do a lot of desktop publishing stuff and a lot of videoby celliott - Tips and Deals
On a tip from this forum I went over to Amazon on black Friday. Just got my 17" iMac 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. In response to Apple's sale, they further reduced theirs. Brand new $1029.99, no tax, free shipping and a $75.00 on-line rebate to boot for a nice $954.99 final price. And it arrived this afternoon! Getting ready now to unpack and play. Thanks for the tip whomever posted it (sorrby celliott - Tips and Deals

I just did this, and actually there is an easier way to do it. Copy the iTunes folder to the new Mac and put it where you want it. Then, hold down the option key while launching iTunes on the new Mac. Keep it held down until you get a dialog box that gives you the option of creating a new folder or locating an existing folder. Simply choose the new folder. Your iTunes should be identical to whby celliott - Tips and Deals
BabyTats, Do you have a link for that $699 MacBook deal? I can't find it, so maybe they're gone or possibly a pricing mistake? Thanks celliottby celliott - Tips and Deals
My 1.25Ghz MDD went down yesterday. After swapping out the power supply and then the power switch on the front, it was determined that the button is defective. Anyone know of a source for parts for an MDD- I need the front power button/switch assembly. there isn't much to it and esaily replaced, I just don't know of a source. eBay is there of course, but I don't need a whole machine and that pby celliott - Tips and Deals

I just picked up a used G5 1.8Ghz machine. i have a G4 Dual 1.42, both running 10.4.6. I am using migration assistant to move some of my settings over- or at least I'm trying to. Problem is: G4 goes into FE mode, both are connected with FW cable. G4 has 4 internal HDs. Only one of the HDs shows up and it's not the boot drive of the G4. I'm looking at a G5 Dual 2.0 that's for sale. I'm using one right now, just recorded the NL playoffs. Works very well. I really didn't like their software Evolution TV so I went to EyeTV and bought their software as a download. Works very well.by celliott - Tips and Deals
Thanks Carm, that did it. I used my wife's Windows laptop and formatted the stick. All seems well.by celliott - Tips and Deals
Racer, Thanks for the thought, but I'm partitioning the whole stick, not just the volume. It must be on a hidden volume, but I can't seem to get to it. Still looking.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I bought it at my local Office Depot- they price matched the ad from Office Max. 2gig Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive. It has a Windows program called U3 on it. I don't need it, it's Windows only. Everytime I mount the stick another volume comes up called U3 System with the Windows programs on it in addition to the stick. I figure I'll reformat the stick- nothing doing, the U3 System volume contiby celliott - Tips and Deals

Thanks for the input. I'm not new to Mac or video, just the whole PVR, Miglia, EyeTV, etc. thing. My end goal is to record things in good quality rez and then output what I want to keep to DVD in the most effecient manner possible. I had hoped, for example, to record the baseball playoff games, edit out the commercials (either in EyeTV or iMovie) and then burn them to single sided DVDs in the mby celliott - Tips and Deals
I just picked up a used Miglia Evolution TV PVR and have it coupled with the latest EyeTV software. I'm new to this whole thing and have searched the forum, but could use some help. I have the combo set to record to High (90 minute) DVD encoding. But I can't get anything to work with the files except EyeTV. When I hit the Toast button, I can't do anything because the 2 1/2 hour recording won't reby celliott - Tips and Deals
My son is in college in Chicago. He has an iBook 1.33Ghz. Last night he e-mails me to tell me that he knocked over a candle on his desk with the wax getting into his keyboard. The left side of the keyboard works intermittently. It's under warrenty and has AppleCare. There is a big Apple store a few blocks away.
