So, I understand if you filed taxes for 2018 or 2019 and got a refund, they have your direct deposit banking information. Many of you have gotten your checks already. However, I filed 2018 & 2019 and each year owed a little bit- $69 2018 and $124 2019. I paid those taxes owed and obviously did not get a refund. So, they don't have my direct deposit banking info and cannot give me a direct depby celliott - Tips and Deals
I'm using HB v 1.3.1 on a 2018 Mini and OS 10.14.6 Just for fun I tried to rip something and it ripped just fine. I didn't get any warning message.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I was reading that they are increasing delivery dates for non-essential items to allow for processing and shipping of essentials. Well, I needed some blank DVDs (yep still burn some) and I also needed a lapel mic to use on my iPhone and video camera for some video work. Microphone was in stock and fulfilled by Amazon with a date of April 21. DVDs were in stock and fulfilled by Amazon and tby celliott - Tips and Deals
All drives are backed up regularly. 3 are used for iTunes- music, movies, TV Shows, etc. They are backed up manually using Carbon Copy Cloner. One other drive is my data drive. It's backed up also with CCC and also has a Time Machine Backup set to the default TM settings (every hour?). My biggest problem is with the 3 iTunes disks. Most of the time, the Mac spins those up when accessing the dby celliott - Tips and Deals
I wasn't being snotty. Where did I say anything offensive? Give me a break. I simply pointed out that I addressed that. You hadn't made your comment before I went to edit mine. We likely did it at the same time. Seems to me that you are the one being snotty- if I offended you, I apologize- it wasn't intentional.by celliott - Tips and Deals
Thanks, but as I noted in the original post, I don't have the energy settings set to put the drives to sleep. This is apparently a function either of the drives or the enclosures.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I moved recently from a 2009 Mac Pro to a 2018 Mac Mini. In the Pro, the drives were always spinning unless I purposely put them to sleep. Those drives were moved to external cases with the Mini. things are fast, but I'm concerned about the drives. The external drives are constantly spinning down and then back up. Some of the times it happens when I access them, but at other times it seems to hapby celliott - Tips and Deals
I would agree with the tables suggestion. Columns are too hard to get everything lined up. Tables work well. Just don't forget to give it no dividing lines on the cells.by celliott - Tips and Deals
Never mind. I think I figured it out. If you look at the info (get TV Shows Info) for an episode, the season is not numbered. I selected all of the season 1 episodes, hit get info and changed the season to 1. Hit OK and they are magically sorted into separate seasons. Maybe you all knew that or maybe that will help someone else with that question.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I just bought the complete series of MASH from the iTunes Store. Unfortunately, when I go to watch them on my Apple TV, it is not broken down into seasons, rather it is one long list of 256 episodes. Want to watch an episode from a later season, scroll through the whole list. That's crazy. Buy the seasons separately and they stay listed as seasons (as I did on another TV show). Anyone have anby celliott - Tips and Deals
Not sure if that header was clear. I'm on Mojave and uncertain about making the move to Catalina. I have my iTunes library stored on an external drive with all of my purchased, ripped music, movies, music, home movies, etc, scattered over 4 external HDs. I'm not using my internal drive for any iTunes storage since it's a 2018 Mac mini with 256 SSD. I know with Catalina, iTunes gets separateby celliott - Tips and Deals
No media files on the main drive. Those are long gone. I have taken inventory and know exactly what's taking up all the room, but thanks for the tip.by celliott - Tips and Deals
MrNoBody, Thanks for that info. I missed the distinction. Actually I guess your response was to one of the other posts. The link you posted is where I got my previous information. Things went badly.by celliott - Tips and Deals
Well, I'm running Mojave 10.14.6 in a 2018 Mac Mini. Only has a 256SSD and it's filling up. I did some research about moving the User folder to another drive, going into System Preferences and changing the location in the accounts section, then resorting and all would be good. Well, I copied it to a spinning hd connected via USB 3 to one of the Thunderbolt ports. I changed the location in systby celliott - Tips and Deals
I'll admit, I'm still finding my way around the pro apps. Motion was included in the bundle I bought- but I'll also have to admit that I haven't looked at any of the apps other than FCP. I need to research Motion to find out what it even does.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I've been using iMovie like many people but bought the Final Cut Pro package when Apple offered it under a good educational deal. I have a couple of title special effects that I like to use in iMovie that I can't find in FCP. Anyone know how to get this effects from iM to FCP? If I have both apps running I can copy a title with that effect in iMovie and then paste it into FCP and have all ediby celliott - Tips and Deals
Anyway to eliminate them during normal use? I mean, it would be nice to know what kind of storage space I have available. I don't remember something happening like that before to that extreme. Thanks for the insight.by celliott - Tips and Deals
So I have a 2015 13" MacBook Pro with a 500GB SSD running OS 10.14.6 Mojave. I hadn't done a backup for awhile so thought I'd take care of that. Ran CCC onto an external spinning HD formatted APFS just like the SSD. After the backup completed I noticed a big difference in the size reported on what was stored. The backup only took up 174GB on the spinning disk while the SSD reported to beby celliott - Tips and Deals
I took one of the suggestions from GGD and copied the app from the Mac Pro to the MBP. Guess what? It runs fine. Didn't ask me to sign in before the app would activate or anything. It simply launched. Go figure.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I've signed out and signed in multiple times. As far as I can tell all other apps show up as purchased. Really weird.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I have a home Mac Pro 5,1 and an office MacPro 5,1 along with a 2015 MacBook Pro. All are running Mojave 10.14.6. I have been running Pixemator for years. I saw that they were offering a bundle upgrade on the Mac App Store- finish my bundle. It saved me a little bit of money and in addition to the update to the standard Pixelmator, I also got the new Pixelmator Pro. I bought it. It (Pro) showby celliott - Tips and Deals
Thanks a good question. Since it appears I now have the ability to download my content, I would say I transferred to my account. When I go to my account on iTunes the MBP is now associated with my account. But your question is what prompted me to start this thread. I had no idea exactly what "Transfer" did and nothing I've read directly answers your question. Guess I lucked out.by celliott - Tips and Deals
Thanks, Rich. I decided to just hit "Transfer" and see what happens. Well, it seems to have freed me up to download older purchased movies. I then rechecked the associated list in my iTunes account and the previously not associated MBP is there now. Is it just me, or did Apple really bury that information? Even that article didn't seem to tell me exactly what would happen. The messagby celliott - Tips and Deals
I did deauthorize it and then reauthorized it. Still no go. I get the same message. Guess I'll have to contact Apple tech support to see what can be done. I'm still trying to find out what the button "Transfer" does. Anyone have any idea. I've done searches but found no answer.by celliott - Tips and Deals
So, if he failed to sign out of iTunes, what is my option? As I said, I was presented the messaged then had the option buttons to "Cancel" or "Transfer" with no explanation of what the transfer option does. Am I locked out?by celliott - Tips and Deals
I did the sign out and sign in. Thanks. Here's an interesting twist. I copied the same movie from one of my other authorized computers on the same account into the iTunes on the MBP. Movie copied into the iTunes movie folder and when I click play, it plays just fine. So, I can't download the movie, but I can copy it? I'm confused.by celliott - Tips and Deals
So, I've had this used MacBook Pro for several months now. I have authorized it through iTunes but because the SSD is so small, I haven't downloaded any content previously. Today I launched iTunes and clicked on a previously purchased movie to download it. I got this message: This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. If you download past purchases with your Apple ID, you cannot auby celliott - Tips and Deals
Where is it available at that price. It's $39.99 on the App Store. Maybe I missed the special price?by celliott - Tips and Deals
Looks like it was edited 2 minutes after I posted it.by celliott - Tips and Deals
I posted a 13" MacBoo Pro for sale last night. I check this morning and it says it was last edited by Zoidberg last night. Anyone tell me why that might have happened? I am assuming Zoidberg is a mod, but why would an ad get edited and how can I find out why and what got edited? Just curious. Thanks.by celliott - Tips and Deals
