What Diana describes is exactly what I experienced in the early 90’s. I was an engineering student, NOT a chemistry or premed student. There was what was talked about as ‘weed out’ classes. Looking back, these were the classes that formed the basis on which other concepts were to be built on. They were not easy classes. Several of them I ended up retaking (and understanding much better theby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals

I've used the Freestyle Libre 2 for (1) 14 day cycle. It generally ran 40 points above a finger stick at the same time (mornings), 25 points above in the afternoon. I'm type 2, so I wasn't making insulin decisions based on its numbers... It was interesting for tracking trends after meals. I look forward to trying it again in a few weeks. It's an out-of-pocket expense, since my insurance doesby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals

I think I tipped the AAA locksmith $10 or $20 for the extra (2) keys he cut when my wife broke off the key in the cylinder. I think I also tipped the AAA tow truck driver with a W.A.R. tattoo on his arm after he swapped out my flat along the interstate outside of Pigeon Forge. The place he suggested for tire repair was pretty interesting as well..by Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals
Are you paying for it yourself or is insurance picking it up? -If insurance, just go with their system. It will probably be the most inexpensive. -If you are 'out-of-pocketing' it, Walmart has a $9 meter that uses strips that go for $9 per 50. I'm using the Walmart. I have a box with (5) other meters in it. Used them all. They are basically the same operation. The only difference is their coby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals

Movers or Packers? I've used Uhaul's PODS in the last five years. I loaded from a storage unit. Had it hauled several states away & hired some strong backs to unload it into my garage. Had no issues. If I didn't have a place to unload to immediately, I would have probably went with the actual PODS service, but can't speak to them as a service. YMMVby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals

Many years ago I decided that I didn't like bending over to load my laundry from the dryer to the basket, so I built a platform to raise the dryer 2.5ft up from the floor. The space under the platform became the location for the litter box....by Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals

QuoteAnd most PE's here don't seem to be smart enough to realize that. I'm sure the PE specified the gravel underlayment. I guessing the contractor didn't install it per the specifications & the PE wasn't PAID to inspect it prior to concrete being poured. The question is what role the foundation inspector plays in this. Not that I have ever experienced this situation....by Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals

I've run into the same problem myself (prescription you don't want to just throw away). Found a local group that accepted 'donated' prescriptions for those who couldn't afford to fill theirs. They weren't nationally affiliated with anybody (church basement local nurse), so that doesn't help you with your locality. All I can say is that you'll have to look/ask around for something similar, but itsby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals
A few words of free 'advise' (worth exactly what you are paying for it)... -The Engineer doesn't work for you, he works for the contractor. That is the only party he owes a duty to. -The contractor submitting sealed drawings & calcs to the local governing authority is just the start of the process. Time in process depends on the local bureaucracy & contractors relationship. -Be clear wby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals
Struct Engr - yes, had my PE since 1999.... For the reasons cited in this thread, I DON'T do forensic or residential. Just no money in it for the amount of hassle involved... First question: Who's payin the Engineer? That is the master he serves... Second question: Is the city involved? That generally is where the bottleneck is (city board/council meets 1x per month)... Third question: Haveby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals

How long will you be spending in Sioux Falls? Honestly its not worth more of a stop to get a meal & then get back on the road to someplace else... I say that with some experience. I grew up 60 miles from there & lived in the town for 6 months. There was a Brazilian Steakhouse that served a acceptable caipirinhia. I think there is a park with a waterfall. I also think there was a zoo, iby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals

What kind of things interest you? Will you have a car? Had some really good goat tacos just south of downtown Mpls this morning (the lamb were actually better). There's an interesting pirate/rum bar in North Mpls I'd been interested in hearing a review of. There are some good music places on the West Bank. I guest it all depends on what you are up for. Interesting the observations about northern vs southern. As a Northerner (MN) who has been working in the South (GA/SC) for the past few years, I find the people around me ‘overshare’. My recollection of my years in MN was that you acknowledged the other persons existence by nod, and worst case if you had to talk, it was about the weather. Never anything deeper than that. I know way more aby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals
When I'm in MN, I use(d) Valvoline Oil Change shops. I think they were a little more $ then Jiffy Lube, but you stayed in the car whilst the service was being done. I found being able to watch the service a 'value add'. I generally drove directly home, let the car sit, then rechecked all the fluid levels when engine cooled. Never had a problem & beat having to heat up the garage during the wiby Tiki2000 - Tips and Deals
