"Does it look like a brand new product? I've never gotten Apple" -- Of COURSE it looks brand new! "(btw, are you the ice cream guy from years ago? I could be misremembering.)" -- Yeah that's me. I make it less than I used to, but I still make it for family gatherings. It's soon time for Candy Cane Oreo! "I mean you do you, but this is the "deals" sectionby BillMac - Tips and Deals
You can thank me for any new hardware that will be announced in the next 10 minutes!!! My main iron is a heavily upgraded Mac Pro (early '09, flashed and maxed out on almost every aspect). However, it keeps crashing on me (sometimes 2-3 times per day). My patience is thin, and I am getting lazy with troubleshooting computer stuff anymore. I love all the possibilities of installing drives, swapby BillMac - Tips and Deals

Congrats! I just replaced my 6s Plus (battery health at 79%) with an 11 Pro Max. That should hold me for another few years, per my replacement cycle!by BillMac - Tips and Deals
I still have several. Our house was built in ‘66, previous owner worked in telecom. Of course they don’t get used, but we still have them!by BillMac - Tips and Deals
Agreed. I saw this post last night, and after already having 2 Redemption Old Fashioneds, I made a Redemption Nor'Easter with the last drops of maple syrup in the house. I will be doing that again! My wife said it's like a fancy bourbon mule. QuoteLizabeth QuoteMarkintosh Basil Hayden is my go to bourbon if someone else is paying. Seems like something I need to look into! QuoteMrNoBody IIRC, it was a 4.1 flashed to a 5.1 Other than RAM, the other 'bottleneck' in the 2009-2012 cMP is the SATA-II bus. imho, installing a Apricorn Velocity Solo x2 PCIe (6G SATA) card was $70 well spent.by BillMac - Tips and Deals

I didn't mix the RAM. I ran the tests with the 64GB of Hynix, then pulled all that and tested with 96GB and 128GB of OWC. I ran GB4.3.2 again with the 128 GB and received very similar results. I might pull all the OWC and revert back to the 64GB of Hynix if I can't get better performance with double the RAM. QuoteLew Zealand My best guess is that your Mac Pro actually dumbed the RAM down toby BillMac - Tips and Deals
About 2 years ago I bought a used Mac Pro on the eBay. IIRC, it was a 4.1 flashed to a 5.1, and upgraded to 2x 3.33GHz 6 core Zeon. It came with 64GB Hynix 1333 MHz DDR3 (8GB x8 slots). I'm running Mojave 10.14.6, with a Radeon RX 580 8GB card. Our forum sponsor had a garage sale, and I bought 2x used 64GB kits of their 1333MHz DDR3. Startup disk is a 1TB SSD, and it's pretty full (about 47GB avaby BillMac - Tips and Deals
It seems to actually be a good deal for RAM for that machine. I know the $20K is a joke, but $310 for 128GB is decent! QuoteAllGold How about this? Such a deal! It looks like the frame has 2 small tabs that are holding the ballast section in place. I'd try pressing IN on the metal where those two tabs are and see if it flexes enough to pop loose. Those screws may be holding the ballast to that removable section. If it pops off then, you'll probably see 2-3 screws holding it to the wall.by BillMac - Tips and Deals

Yes, some pearls and metallics need to go into the adjacent panel to blend/match the paint. They should also be blending the rear door if I'm seeing the size of that dent correctly. Once the dent is pulled out and repaired, there will be primer and paint all the way to the back edge of that front door. If they don't blend the rear door, you might see a color inconsistency there. As I posted above, I recently made 3+ quarts of Candy Corn ice cream at home. I take the smaller bag (14 oz.?), remove appx. 1 cup of Corns, melt the rest of the bag into my base, then add in the 1 cup after I process it. It's SOOO good. Especially with marshmallow sauce! QuoteRick-o That's pure GENIUS!!! Why hasn't this concoction been explored by the ice cream companies? WAIT!!!!by BillMac - Tips and Deals
