We set up Apple family sharing with our adult daughter and it fits our needs perfectly. You can choose to enable or disable Purchase sharing so either the main iCloud account gets billed for all purchases or the individual buyer gets billed for their own purchases. Our daughter pays for her own purchases even though she shares our Apple TV, Music, iCloud. We also can't see each others iCby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Quotegabester Install linux. You might be surprised. If all you want is a modern, secure web browser, it'll get you there. Heck you should even be able to dual boot! If you've got 8 GB + RAM, run Linux Mint in a virtual machine with a modern browser for your banking.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
QuoteC(-)ris QuoteTiangou Click the green dot at the upper-left of the window and hold the button down for a second or so. You'll have the option of selecting two windows to display side-by-side in full-screen mode. The first will be the one that aligns on the left and the second will align on the right. That is basically what I want, but I don't want them full screen. Still would like to seby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
My smartphone system has grown over the past 10 years as a hodgepodge of hubs, smart controllers, voice assistants, and it was a mess. About 3 years ago, I decided to slowly standardize on HomeKit, which allows everything to be controlled in one place. I run Homebridge on my rPi4 to bring my leftover non-compatible devices: 2 MyQ garages, Nest thermostat, and a sole Belkin light switch. Nexby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

QuoteGGD Quotemrbigstuff I guess a dog wandered onto the runway according to the pilot. Mexico. Speaking of dogs and Mexico, as I was walking through the terminal after getting off the plane, the name of one restaurant caught my eye as being unusual and wondering exactly what they serve. It was a Mexican restaurant called "The Little Chihuahua". Fantastic burritos!by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
I recently got some Kasa Matter KP125M smart plug outlets. These are strictly Wi-Fi based. The key with Matter is that they will work simultaneously with any of the major smartphone platforms: Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google, Samsung. Currently I can tell Siri to turn on the Kasa outlet, and tell Alexa to turn it off. Before Matter this wasn't possible. Matter is at the application lby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

I have a base 14" M1 MBP and the 27" Studio display. This setup replaced my 2017 27" iMac i7 and I don't miss the iMac at all. I'd agree with above recommended Mini + external SSD. I boot my MBP on the internal 512 GB SSD and have an external 4TB SSD for my media. Works great. I'll be happy I get to continue using the 27" studio display in 4 years when I upgrade to an Mby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

Steps I took: I disabled Apple Cash and unlinked my connected bank account. For Cash App and Venmo, I set up a separate security PIN required to transfer Cash out. I also keep financial logins in 1password and not iCloud Keychain so there is a second password required to access those.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
They used to include the Mobile connector (charger) for free until last year, but you have to order it separately now. It will charge at either level 1 (~5 miles/hour) or level 2 (~30 miles/hour). It comes with both a standard 110 plug adapter or a 220v 14-50 plug adapter. I have charged at level 1 for the first 8 months and level 2 for 4 years now.. I had an electrician run a level 2 lineby bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Don't just change your password. Add an authenticator app as a 2 factor verification to secure all your accounts: I'd suggest an authenticator app over text verification. Do this for all your financial & important accounts. On that note, I'd recommend Authy as an authenticator app, but here's an article reviewing the major ones:by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

QuoteRobert M bhaveship, Please please please tell me if/when Quicken Inc finally restores the reconciliation report. That'll be huge relief for me and allow me to permanently make a switch from Quicken 2007 to a newer flavor of Quicken for a handful of accounts. Robert Sure, will do. Hopefully they continue to improve feature parity with the Windows version.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
QuoteFritz If you enter a number into a transaction, or accidentally delete a split, the only way back is to close the txn & say "no" to save. Undo only works with a whole txn, not within. In current version of Quicken, undo 100% works to undo typing when entering a txn. You don't have to cancel out the transaction.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
I've been a longtime user of Quicken and shifted to the current annual subscription version about 3 years ago. The reports are still fairly basic so maybe it'll fit your needs. Of course you can save your customized reports based on filters applied etc. I hope they one day update the investment tracking capabilities and taxation etc. I've been very satisfied with the rate of updates &by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
QuoteWHiiP Quotebhaveshp Thanks! Had to reboot the Mac to apply this update to the Display. Sigh Otherwise, loving the display. So, did you have this audio issue? Did this update fix the problem? I’ve had the garbled audio happen once, about two months ago, and fixed it by pulling the power plug. Dunno, but hopefully that is fixed.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

I'd recommend test installing Monterey on an external SSD using OCLP which looks like it'll work fine on your machine. Read the following: That would definitely be good enough to run Turbotax, but maybe it'll give a couple of years of added use of the MBP.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals
Just yesterday I AirDropped a DVD video file VTS.VOB (Remember those!) from a White MacBook 2008 running Lion OS X 10.7.5 to my MBP running Monterey 12.2. Worked perfectly. Somehow my wife keeps finding old DVDs that must be archived. Sigh.by bhaveshp - Tips and Deals

Quotejh I converted to digital several VCR tapes a while back. Here's my how to. Your going to need a device to convert the tape to digital. You have half of the solution I used by having a VCR player. I used the Elgato Video Capture - Digitize Video for Mac, PC or iPad (USB 2.0).
