With COVID, there are often local shortages of items (e.g. shampoo). People are quite willing to pay a markup to get them. As long as he isn't promising free shipping, he can probably make a few hundred bucks a week.

We did basement windows (sliders) and replaced the original (92 year old) side door this year. Andersen and a local window manufacturer each quoted about $6K for the job. Local handyman quoted $2.3K. The windows were custom sizes, but the door was standard. He did nice work, but had to rebuild the framing around all of the openings. We encouraged him to at least bill us for the extra lum

I suspect that the cost of running a branch is the price they pay to provide the kind of services that customer demand. I, myself, don't go in more than once/twice a year. But, sometimes one needs to get to the safe deposit box, or get bills other than 20s, or figure out where a payment got lost. It takes about 3-4 episodes to get going. There's a lot of setup that happens early and pays off later. I liked it better than the movie, but mainly because of how far Snyder deviated from the book at the end.
