Telescopic antennas are typically only used for FM. If it's helping reception at all it's likely due to induction. Most portables use a small ferrite rod for AM, which are usually only decent for local reception during the day.

If you have a car, how is AM reception on that? Almost all handheld tuners are poor quality, and I can't imagine a $10 radio has quality design and components. Use Radio Locator to see what stations should be in your area. But I will agree there's not much good to be found on the AM dial. I work in radio, on the FM side. Sangean, Tivoli and CCrane are about the only companies I'd recomme

The 7506s have a smiley-EQ sound to them - bumped up lows and highs, which makes them good for hearing stuff you need to fix in the studio but not the best for long-term listening as a consumer (especially with today's music). It's quite possible, depending on your receiver and how you've set it, that if you use the LFE it will only be used with movies or source material that has a LFE channel. In other words, the sub may not get any signal for music. This could be good or bad depending on a number of circumstances.

Press the gas to go, brakes to stop? Not sure what you think there is to learn about it, other than getting used to the speedometer being over in the center. And if you've not driven a hybrid before, getting used to it being silent when you first 'start' it. It's pretty much a regular car these days.

In addition to lobster, eat some blueberry pie. We also did this with our kids - Dive-In Theater. It was pricey but worth it for us. Also some Pirate's Cove mini-putt at night.

Cold water start can have the affect of making the insides stick to the shell more, making it harder to peel cleanly. Other than that, personal preference I'd say.

I just wish we could get over the need-more-mileage mindset. Most of us, for most of our use, don't need even 100 miles per charge. But no, we need all the miles! Just like why so many people buy huge pickups but rarely use them to haul or tow. I'd love to see more energy-dense batteries - mostly so it will get EVs lighter and help steal back some of the storage space that batteries take up.

Typically black coating on carbon steal is good - it's the seasoning. If you want to take that off, I'd suggest Brillow/SOS pads and a good scrub.

Agree with Gareth that minivans are just so much more practical than SUVs. But, one you didn't list is the Acura MDX. I think it would check most of your boxes. Also Volvo XC90.

Seems like you could run an electrical cord up the side of the cabinet and then on the 'top' of the beam where it would be hidden, and then discretely connect lights. I'd probably go with AC-powered. You could consider a solar-powered landscape light(s), but you won't have has much flexibility and options that way.

Are you sure the Rodecaster Pro has more than a stereo output? From pictures, it looks like it has headphones and speaker outputs, which may be all fed by a single stereo output. It would surprise me that it would have more outputs, given the kind of gear it is.

My ecobee with remote wireless sensors can be programmed to which sensor it uses. Just need wifi. Use your smart device to control it wherever, or tie it into Alexa or Homekit for control.
