Quotespecial have you ever seen a car where the windshield wiper control was on the left side? The windshield wiper control on my 2013 Ford Expedition is on the turn-signal stalk on the left side. On our 2023 (and previous 2007) Subaru Outback, it's on the right. Since I drive the Expy most, I prefer that setup.by mrlynn - Tips and Deals
Quotedavester Quotemrlynn Naturally I told her it was her birthday present. Of course it was summer, and her birthday is this week, but any excuse. . . If I bought my wife a vacuum cleaner for a birthday present I would expect to be whacked in the back of the head with a cast iron frying pan. Well, my wife wanted one (tired of lugging round our antique hot-wired Electrolux). She loves the Sby mrlynn - Tips and Deals
Tiangou says, "Supposedly, the ideal way to deal with Lithium battery devices is to charge them to no more than 80% and deplete them no further down than 20%.' But OWC Larry says, "Ideally you don't run it down below 30% on regular basis... and when you charge, you let it complete full charge cycles." What is a "full charge cycle"? If up to 100%, this would sby mrlynn - Tips and Deals

My grandson, who is my resident expert on all new things Apple, says that it's better to let your iPhone battery run down and recharge than to leave it charging whenever you're not carrying it around and using it. True? Most of the time I'm at home, often at the computer, and the iPhone sits idly on my desk, plugged in. Is this worse for the battery than leaving it unplugged most of the day?by mrlynn - Tips and Deals
Quotevision63 It's worth it if you use it. If you take a picture of a beautiful beach scene but wished you could remove all the women wearing bikinis, then it's well worth it. Why would I want to remove all the women wearing bikinis? Now if I could remove the bikinis. . .by mrlynn - Tips and Deals
Quotehal which locking pins are you guys recommending? When I shop for stuff, I go straight to the negative reviews and see what is said. ALL locking pins have horror stories attached. Keys not working is the main issue. I have a locking pin I picked up at a Walmart many years ago; works fine. Main thing is not to lose the key.by mrlynn - Tips and Deals
Quotemacphanatic I have 2 spare pins in my truck. Main pins are locking ones, so I should never need them. After you hooked up, did you jack the trailer up to make sure that the back of your vehicle lifted with the trailer? I was the only leader in our Scout troop to do so with the troop trailer. Several people asked why I did it. Told them that I don't like to assume that the trailer is lockby mrlynn - Tips and Deals
I finally decided to replace our old ElectroLux, for which I had been buying parts for the last 30 years or so. Originally bought it refurbished; it was the last metal-body ElectroLux built. Still works, but it's very loud, quite heavy, and has power hot-wired past the switch (which I never replaced). Decided after reading discussions here to get a Miele. Went to a small local vacuum-cleaneby mrlynn - Tips and Deals
QuoteSpock You can get lockable hitch pins. Yes, a lockable hitch pin is a good idea; helps prevent theft of your ball mount, too. All standard hitch pins have a hole for a cotter pin: you bend the ends so the cotter won't fall out, and that keeps the hitch pin from sliding out. Clearly dealer forgot it. Lucky he at least attached the safety chains correctly. I recommend a padlock oby mrlynn - Tips and Deals
The computers and other devices in our house remember the network password. Only visitors have to enter one. As others say, it's a little security worth using. My trusty Apple Airport Extreme router has two wireless networks; one for guests, which has an easy password, which I just tell them. If they need to use a printer, then I have to give them the password to the 'real' network. That'sby mrlynn - Tips and Deals
Quotehal Quotelost in space Nine transactions, buying and selling on Swappa since 2019. Nary a hitch. As with all purchases on the web, when possible I lean towards sellers who appear to be upgrading rather than those who move large volumes of goods. I agree and I would be less pleased about the 98% battery on an older phone - that means it's a newer battery. Who installed it? Is the thing stiby mrlynn - Tips and Deals
QuoteRAMd®d Chose green just for variety I don't know what it is, but over the last couple of years, I've found shades of green very appealing. Heading north on Mulberry St., I saw a Cybertruck, probably vinyl wrapped, in a beautiful pastel green. I got some Watch bands and a case for my AirPods 4 in forest green. QuoteArticle Accelerator Apple TV has a "Computers" app that lets you access all kinds of media on computers on the same network. Thanks; I had forgotten about the 'Computers' menu item. But that only gives me the option to turn off Home Sharing, and doesn't show any computers. There's a message about using iTunes, but Music (=iTunes?) doesn't have any device options. Quotedavester Swappaleader! You are going to find that the camera on the 13 takes vastly better photos than your old phone, which as I recall was a 6 or 6S. My iMac is in my office, some distance from the TV in the living room. Seems to me that some years back, when I had my 2009 iMac (running Sierra, maybe), I could identify my smart TV on iTunes, and using the Apple TV appliance I could access photo folders on the iMac, seated in the living room, and use the Apple TV remote to control a slide show on the remote iMac. Following up on my query about buying used iPhones on Amazon or elsewhere— Several folks recommended Swappa; I found it a user-friendly site (unlike Amazon). Decided on grandson's recommendation for an iPhone 13, locked to AT&T, 'Mint' condition. QuoteDavidS I have no idea about any of these, but we have a nuCamp T@G XL that we love. I cannot imagine building one of these myself. Their Amish craftmanship is really good. nuCamps are good. Systems like these are in most RVs these days. I recommend molded-fiberglass brands, like Scamp, Casita, Escape, Bigfoot, and Oliver, all factory-direct small companies. Quoterich in distress It’s clear you’ve found your groove fine, and made it work. Yet, let me mention that you can most likely skip going to Audacity, since Studio One should be capable for editing. Also, here’s a link to change where files are recorded on Studio One. This would be so you can record straight to the external to skip the transfer and not fill up the air. Quoterich in distress Why is it that the mixdown is 400mb lighter? Would you consider recording straight to the external? I don't know why the 'mixdown' is smaller; maybe meta-data gets eliminated. I am a novice at the recording technology; using Studio One 5, which I got for free when I bought a two-channel mixer (not using that now); Studio One 5 is designed for multi-source live studio recby mrlynn - Tips and Deals
