Covid is just as deadly this morning as it was 14 months ago. Until one gets the vaccine or herd immunity in the population is reached, nothing has changed. Even after one year, many countries have not been hit hard by covid due to location or restricted travel. That bubble will burst. It's just a matter of time. Hopefully, for their sake, the vaccine will reach them, before covid does.

FYI: Be aware that the vaccination "card" is an oddly sized 4x3 squarish piece of paper with handwritten info on it. It's not a typical business card or credit card size one thinks of when they hear the word "card". So after your shot when the person hands you a slip of paper with your name and second shot reminder date casually handwritten on it. Do not just fold it and cr

Until it hits close to home. Like really close to home. Most people still see covid as an abstraction. Something on the news. Something that happens to other people. Eating in a restaurant during this pandemic is so foolish. Eating in a semi-permanent tent or "shack" set up outside the restaurant is equally foolish. But people will be people... until it hits close to home.

I'm not an expert on this, but I seem to remember something about if you are selling a house you currently live in (primary residence) you are exempt from capital gains taxes up to a certain amount. Killing Eve (Hulu) Surprised no one mentioned it yet. Slide it to the top of the list. I think you'll really enjoy it. Evil Genius: The True Story of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist (Netflix) I remember this bizarre "collar bomb" robbery / scavenger hunt happening live on TV in 2003. Very compelling.

Had a Gen1 Sonicare when it first came out 20 years ago with the PITA screw-on brushhead. When it died after 10 years I switched to Oral-B. Just recently switched back to a modern Sonicare with the click-on brushhead. So having experience with both brands over 20 years, I think I'm qualified to say that Sonicare is my preferred brand.

Depending on the variety of seed you use, the clover will most likely take over your lawn choking out any grass. Growing clover is much easier than re-growing grass. So be sure you want to go this route before proceeding. Grass is much more durable if you plan to actually use the area in any way. Areas where it's all clover and no grass will look trampled very quickly.

The topic of stimulus checks was heavily covered by the media a few weeks ago. But no mention of it recently, so out of curiosity I logged into my bank account to check. Lo and behold there was the deposit. No email notice or confirmation from the bank. It was just quietly slipped in there, unnoticed last week. Hopefully it arrives soon for everyone else. Stay safe.

It was a busy week at work, so I didn't get a chance until now to check my bank account. The economic impact payments (stimulus checks) for my family of 4 were quietly deposited into my bank account last Wednesday on the 17th. I coincidentally just signed up me and the wife for some life insurance yesterday. Been meaning to do it for years. It'll help take the sting out of the annual premium.

Who owns and maintains that land across the street from you? If you are planting foundation shrubs. Plant them 4 feet away from the house and fence. It looks wrong. But shrubs, you know, grow. Speaking of which, how far away is the that tree to the house. Now is the time to think of in-ground sprinklers if it's an option. And if you want them of course. Good luck!

As mentioned, it's weed barrier, aka landscape fabric. That dirt on top was probably once mulch that has since broken down into dirt. How long have you lived there? I'm guessing it was there when you moved in? The weeds you may see in there from time to time is growing in the dirt/mulch on top of the fabric. The roots will penetrate through the fabric down into deeper soil so it might seem lik

As much as I would've liked to avoid a big box store at this time. The price was almost 50% of Amazon. Went with the Husqvarna for $6.50/qt at Lowes. And right when I'm getting ready to hack and slash away, I spied two robins hanging around in the backyard. Don't want to disturb them if they are building a nest. Purchased a pole saw on sale a few months ago to do some Spring pruning of backyard trees. Dead branches, overhanging branches, etc. Light duty.
