I refuse to have it on my phone. Prefer to keep these things separate, in case something happens with phone. Waiting for the half price OMNY card to be sent as promised by the MTA. Will stick with my current card until then.by mspace - Tips and Deals
I don't mind the exit check as much as I mind some of the local supermarkets trying to get me to leave any other bags I have with a check-in desk as I enter. Refuse to do it. They are welcome to check me as I leave.by mspace - Tips and Deals
My medicare agent explained to me that with Original, the government is connected to supply coverage. With Advantage, the government is not connected anymore, and gives a supplement to the insurance companies to make up for it. If you do not have issues that use all the supplement, the insurance company gets to pocket what's left. They REALLY want you to do the Advantage plans for that reason.by mspace - Tips and Deals
QuoteTodd's keyboard My purchased copy of the Adobe Creative Suite stopped running (new OS), and I am unwilling to pay for a subscription. I've been waiting for Affinity software to go on sale. Black Friday did not disappoint (40% off). Purchased the entire suite of Designer, Photo, and Publisher. My library gives me access to online LinkedIn courses. Turkey breast in a slow cooker. Was skeptical, but the reviews of recipes I found rave about it. Certainly easier than the oven, and frees it up for stuffing, etc. We'll see . . .by mspace - Tips and Deals
Celebrated the Other's b-day. Starting to pack up the Pumpkin Collection for The Apt Painting (first time in 23 years of being here). Waited until after The Day. Luckily, the super agreed to do it in sections, so one of 3 sections a month or so. First is hallway, kitchen, bath. Then bedroom, last living room. Quotemattkime I have dreams of sandblasting and repainting the radiators in my home. Its unlikely to ever happen. I put a marble slab on top of them and am ignoring the paint job.by mspace - Tips and Deals
Quotecbelt3 Quotemspace Quotecbelt3 Ever consider a ventilated cover for it ? Metal mesh rolled around it ? It's an idea, but would not be so attractive. I was thinking like this… That would probably not go so well design wise in the room, but it’s a cool idea. Also, then it would have to be protected from any wear or corrosion, too. Black paint would probably be the easiest.by mspace - Tips and Deals
QuoteBuzz Beyond lead paint..... Betcha there's tons of asbestos in those old 1930's era "heavy plaster walls" to remain cognizant of, too. Be careful! .....and Go Blue! Add a little sparkle to the old bathroom pipes. == Ha! Too bad it's only in a spray.by mspace - Tips and Deals
Quotegadje what is this made of? metal? any rust on the inside? Definitely metal. I have NO idea of the inside. If anything was wrong with that, it would be management's issue. This is a rent stabilized pre-war apt in Manhattan. Much sturdier than usual. Heavy plaster walls, metal door and window frames. And much more naturally sound proof. Why many acoustic musicians and singers are in the aby mspace - Tips and Deals
QuoteSpeedy Be careful if old lead paint is an issue. Maybe in the past, but it's been painted over with Rustoleum Stops Rust at least twice since I've been here for 23 years. I'm going to use that again, but in black. So I think it will be ok. I'll just have to be careful if I'm chipping off loose stuff and I assume the new paint will seal it up. There are no children in this house.by mspace - Tips and Deals

Quoteanonymouse1 The only, small, issue is that paint black will increase radiation from the steam pipe. If the radiators that the steam pipe feeds aren’t putting out enough heat, that will negatively affect them. Got it. I knew that color can affect heat radiation. This building runs VERY hot, once things get going for the season. The top 6th floor apts have issues due to the roof, ours on tby mspace - Tips and Deals

Thanks for responses. It has just had coats of Rustoleum white on it from before. I had been looking into high heat paint. An auto place I called said he really doesn't advise using that type of paint indoors, anyway, due to chemicals, etc., compared to interior use paint. Also many high heat paints need to be "high heat cured" as a final step, which not possible in this situation (by mspace - Tips and Deals
We're in a pre-war apt, built in 1930, with steam heat. Finally painting the place and thinking of painting the riser in the bathroom black. The room has all the original fixtures with the typical colored tile/ black tile trim, and white wall above. Is there any technical reason why this would not be a good idea? It's been painted white, but the conditions turn it yellow due to heat, moistuby mspace - Tips and Deals

QuoteRandalls I am on ONE Plan 55 unlimited, did not receive an email notification by the 18th so I logged in and contacted customer service using chat. I thought my plan might not be affected but Kristina said she could reverse the move. I said I definitely did not want a new plan. She said OK but I never received an email for confirmation. You would think a text or email would be forthcoming.by mspace - Tips and Deals

Did the opt out following this- I also did the check they recommended and it was there. To keep my plan's features intact my rate would have more then doubled, from $60 to $170 to keep most of my current features. I don't care about all the Apple TV and Netflix add-ons, and the basic plan, while less than what I'm paying, would have cut my current features WAY back. Fingers crossed thaby mspace - Tips and Deals

It amazes me just how much money Spectrum spends on soliciting mail. I switched to Fios and I must get 1-2 pieces in my mailbox every 2 weeks. That has to cost them. A huge waste of funds.by mspace - Tips and Deals
If you are always looking at a device and with earbuds, the whole PHYSICAL sense of perception is going to take its toll. Very few people now have a sense of their "back space" and function in a very 2-D "flat world. People don't understand/realize the dissociative body/intellect relationship they are training themselves into. The problem is if you call them on it in any way, thby mspace - Tips and Deals
