I have a friend who was born in Cuernavaca and now lives in Puebla. She was shocked when she was here as a Postdoc that we celebrate that day. Of course most people in the U.S. think they are celebrating Mexican heritage.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals
Unfortunately, I had to have my 30 ft. weeping cherry removed this spring. Lots of dead branches and sparse leaves during the summer. Trying to grow grass in its place right now.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals

Back in my younger days I rode every day all winter long unless there were hazardous road conditions. I had cycling mittens usually worn with a glove liner on the coldest days. Fleece lined tights and the most amazing Gore-Tex jacket. This jacket was thin and light yet amazingly warm. Wore Neoprene shoe covers to keep my feet "warm". A fleece balaclava under my helmet. Quotefreeradical Why would anyone ever want to move something directly from the oven to the freezer? Not saying you would, but with the original Pyrex you could. With the tempered glass Pyrex, you risk shattering if you take it from the oven and put it on a cold surface. I was just saying that to make a point. You could take original pyrex made before 1998 directly from the freezer into the ovby cyclemax - Tips and Deals
Corning sold their consumer line Pyrex glassware years ago. It is no longer made with Borosilicate glass. It is now made with tempered glass. Tempered glass will shatter if you cool it too rapidly. No more oven to freezer. If you have any old Pyrex, hold on to it.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals

I've had that same set with red lids for close to 10 years. Use them regularly and they are still in great shape. Use them for storage only. Never put in the microwave or dishwasher.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals
For a time, narrow rims were popular on road bikes. Schrader valves would not fit between the tire beads on clincher rims. Presta can hold higher pressures than Schrader because air pressure seals the valve. Back in my racing days I was running 18 mm tires at 160 psig. Presta tubes come in various stem lengths for different rim profiles. Aero rims have deep profiles so Schrader stems would not woby cyclemax - Tips and Deals
Walgreens started taking appointments today. Signed up late last night. All time slots were open. My store only has Moderna. Will also give to those that had the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. They were so swamped with walk-ins that they will now only do them by appointment. I had a 4:30 appointment. Got my shot at 4:40 pm. Now the wait and see how my body reacts to it.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals
I ordered an Apple Watch for my sister a couple months ago with a custom band. Had it shipped directly to her house. It came directly from China via UPS international. One delivery attempt was made but as per usual the driver did not wait long enough for her to get to the door. Left a note that it would be dropped off at a local UPS access point not far from her home for pick up. Kept checking thby cyclemax - Tips and Deals
Several years ago I received a package from Amazon with my correct name and address. I opened the package and it was a bag of insecticide specifically used to treat crops for some specific type of insect. I called Amazon and they could find no record of it being shipped to me or anybody for that matter. The woman said for me to keep it. I said I don't need it or want it. She would not authorize aby cyclemax - Tips and Deals
Recovering slowly but surely. It is going to be a few more days before I can sit on the a bike seat for an extended length of time. I've always managed to squeeze in a daily ride somewhere. It has been a bit of a necessity with my history of bad knees. It is the best exercise for them. That is unless I crash.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals
QuoteGGD Can it show you where the patrol car traveled to? I have it all on a map. I know the route the car travelled up until they found it in the car. About 23 miles total.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals

This Topic MacResource I was contacted by the Police that they found my GPS. Picked it up today and it is in perfect condition. As I suspected it fell off in the patrol car that the bike was picked up in. I now have an impressive stat on my ride data. Max speed of 60.9 mph. Average speed is only 13.6 mph thanks to all the sitting. I know they have better things to do so I appreciate their makby cyclemax - Tips and Deals
Quotemrbigstuff I would not ascribe any ill intent, it could have fallen off, I'm sure they were not all that gentle. I certainly don't. I suspect that is what happened. It would not take much of a bump to knock it off. I'm just hoping it is somewhere in the back of the cruiser rather than on the ground somewhere.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals
Followup to this topic MacResource Picked up my bike today from the Police. Can't see any noticeable damage. Unfortunately, the Bike computer mounted on the handlebar is missing. I know for a fact that it was on there because it came off in the crash and I put it back on the mount while waiting for the paramedics and saw that it still was there when they leaned it against the construction barby cyclemax - Tips and Deals
The shoulder was good initially, then I came to a section where they were keeping the spare construction barrels. Traffic was tight and moving well above the construction zone speed limit so I had no chance of getting into the lane. I would have been fine if not for the sign lying across the shoulder into the roadway.by cyclemax - Tips and Deals
20 years or so ago I was on a ride and my handlebar stem broke. As a result I did a face plant. No real damage other than a nasty road rash on my face. I had barely hit the road before two cars stopped and someone else called 911. A nice couple got out of their car with a first aid kit and started cleaning my rash. With in minutes, the police, paramedics and an ambulance were on the scene. Turnsby cyclemax - Tips and Deals
Was out for my daily 40 mile bike ride. About 6 miles from home I was riding past a construction zone and most of the shoulder was lined with construction barrels. I was riding about 6 inches inside the line but car traffic was heavy and tight to the line. Concerned with how close traffic was to me, I did not see the 2 inch square metal leg from a construction sign that had fallen over and was lyby cyclemax - Tips and Deals
