Unfortunately, I had to have my 30 ft. weeping cherry removed this spring. Lots of dead branches and sparse leaves during the summer. Trying to grow grass in its place right now.

Crabgrass needs a pre-emergence treatment in the early spring. Once it starts to grow you can't kill it without killing the grass you want.

I have Medicare and a Blue Cross Blue Shield Supplemental Plan. I receive my my blue Cross EOB statements electronically. I receive an email notice when a new claim is processed and I can view the statement on their web site and save as a pdf if needed.

Corning sold their consumer line Pyrex glassware years ago. It is no longer made with Borosilicate glass. It is now made with tempered glass. Tempered glass will shatter if you cool it too rapidly. No more oven to freezer. If you have any old Pyrex, hold on to it.

They are considered microwave and dishwasher safe. I only microwave in glass containers.

I've had that same set with red lids for close to 10 years. Use them regularly and they are still in great shape. Use them for storage only. Never put in the microwave or dishwasher.

Walgreens started taking appointments today. Signed up late last night. All time slots were open. My store only has Moderna. Will also give to those that had the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. They were so swamped with walk-ins that they will now only do them by appointment. I had a 4:30 appointment. Got my shot at 4:40 pm. Now the wait and see how my body reacts to it.

Recovering slowly but surely. It is going to be a few more days before I can sit on the a bike seat for an extended length of time. I've always managed to squeeze in a daily ride somewhere. It has been a bit of a necessity with my history of bad knees. It is the best exercise for them. That is unless I crash.

This Topic MacResource I was contacted by the Police that they found my GPS. Picked it up today and it is in perfect condition. As I suspected it fell off in the patrol car that the bike was picked up in. I now have an impressive stat on my ride data. Max speed of 60.9 mph. Quotemrbigstuff I would not ascribe any ill intent, it could have fallen off, I'm sure they were not all that gentle. I certainly don't. I suspect that is what happened. It would not take much of a bump to knock it off. I'm just hoping it is somewhere in the back of the cruiser rather than on the ground somewhere.

Bike accident update - 10 months ago

Followup to this topic MacResource Picked up my bike today from the Police. Can't see any noticeable damage. Unfortunately, the Bike computer mounted on the handlebar is missing. I know for a fact that it was on there because it came off in the crash and I put it back on the mount while waiting for the paramedics and saw that it still was there when they leaned it against the construction bar

The shoulder was good initially, then I came to a section where they were keeping the spare construction barrels. Traffic was tight and moving well above the construction zone speed limit so I had no chance of getting into the lane. I would have been fine if not for the sign lying across the shoulder into the roadway.

20 years or so ago I was on a ride and my handlebar stem broke. As a result I did a face plant. No real damage other than a nasty road rash on my face. I had barely hit the road before two cars stopped and someone else called 911. A nice couple got out of their car with a first aid kit and started cleaning my rash.
