This is the older model. I had one of these and the interface board failed after about 3 months of use. Seagate replaced it with a brand new FreeAgent Xtreme model, which I believe is the newer version of this drive. The one I had came pre-formatted for the Mac and included some Mac backup software. Just wipe off as much as you can using a dry lint free wipe. Most solvents won't touch the silicone based grease. Freon TF works but you can't get that anymore. Chromic acid in sulfuric acid will work but that's overkill for your goal and you don't want to go there. The thin residue film you would leave behind dry wiping shouldn't cause you any problems.

Amazon, Staples, Office Max, etc. very often ship items in original packaging. I've seen printers, scanners, computers, vacuum cleaners and similar items arrive with just a UPS shipping label slapped on the box. I doubt UPS denies any of these company's claims for damage.

Glad to hear you're ok. Cyclists always lose in those situations. I have close to 250,000 miles of road riding under my belt and have been involved in several accidents. I've fractured my hand, shattered my collar bone, fractured my pelvis, separated my shoulder and have had more bruises and road rash than I care to think about. Out of all the accidents, only one was due to my own stupidity.

From what I've read, you can only open MS Works files with MS Works. You only option is to have them save the file in RTF format. I also believe that Works can save a file in older Office formats, which you should be able to open in Word.

I bought a six pack of generic Meritline cartridges for my Epson R320 a couple of years ago for less than the cost of one set of Epson cartridges. They have worked great. The printer sits sometimes for months at a time without use, and I have not had any problems with clogs. Output is just as good as the original Epson cartridges.

For a Road/Sport bike, and depending on the front gearing and your riding level, unless your climbing steep grades your shouldn't need a 30 and probably won't use the 28 much. I believe the Giant has a 34/50 Crankset. A 34/28 should handle most road situations.

My TV came with a Ferrite Core in the accessory bag. The owner's manual said a Ferrite core was needed for any HDMI cable connected to the side port on the TV. They were not necessary on the three back HDMI ports. So, I would suggest checking your owners manual to see if they are necessary for your TV.

Yea, Plantronics EOL'd Volume Logic with the release of Leopard. There were some Unix hacks which resurrected it for awhile but subsequent iTunes releases have pretty much done it in. I've been using iWOW for awhile now and it has worked well for me. Got it cheap through a MacUpdate special.
