I feel your pain, but as far back as I can remember, there have always been reports where upgrading to the newest OS hoses peoples machines. And yes, you should never upgrade your OS without a solid backup.

Amazon used their delivery service in my area for awhile. It only lasted about 6 months or so. Back to UPS and USPS now.

I have the original Magic Mouse and get a low battery warning at 7%. I've read you get the warning on a Magic Mouse 2 at about 5%. I've gone a couple of days after the low battery warning.

I had one about 40 years ago. It had advertising on it. I believe my Dad got it from a salesman at his work. If you do a Google search for "metal roll up yardstick", you can see several images of them. It looks like they were mainly an advertising gimmick. Doesn't look like they have been available for quite awhile.

I've done it in the past with no problems. The only issue is if you save an old file in the new version, you may not be able to open it again in the older version. You also have to be careful and not just double click on a file. Open from within the version you want to use.

You could have a bad contactor/relay. This controls the power to the outside unit from the breaker/disconnect. I had one of these fail on an old Trane unit. The contacts on the low voltage side corroded. Fortunately, my brother works in HVAC and had a spare one on his Truck. Fairly easy to replace.

The only items required by federal law to be labeled for expiration are infant formula and some baby foods. Some states also require dates on dairy which must be pulled from the shelves after the expiration date. I suspect a lot of these dates have no science behind them and are just semi-educated guesses. I know people that throw away items on the exact date whether it be expiration or best by.

Is your lighted keyboard bluetooth? If so, option booting will not work. Bluetooth drivers load after startup. Need a wired keyboard for that.

Drive Genius picked up a new Launch Item on both my work and home iMacs today. The file name is com.adobe.GC.Invoker-1.0.plist. I see installation Launch items when I update Adobe Acrobat, but these are automatically deleted after installation. This one just popped up out of the blue. On the other hand, I had a package delayed due to weather that was supposed to have been delivered last Friday. The UPS tracking page said the new delivery date was tomorrow. They delivered the package early Saturday morning, so it seems they are making an effort to catch up. I've never had UPS make a Saturday delivery before.
