Need a favor - Airport Utility 5.5 - 15 years ago

For some reason Apple hasn't posted this update yet (it was released in Oct.) It's only available via CD that ships with new Time Capsules and Extremes. I bought an Extreme about a month ago and dumped the CD. Now I find that since updating to a new iMac running Snow Leopard I have to have version 5.5 of the utility. Would someone mind hosting the app for me? I would greatly appreciate it.

New 27" Quad iMac in the house! - 15 years ago

Ordered on Dec. 4. Delivered this morning. My G5 must have known it was coming because it crapped out after I left for work. Got a call from wifey saying that the mouse, keyboard, everything was locked up tight. Rebooted and it froze again. Came home to check it out. Hardware diagnostics came back clear. Took out some 3rd party memory and disconnected the internal backup drive to no avail.

Got one on order thru Apple using wife's Edu discount. Was the fastest way to get one. We should have it just in time for xmas. For me the i7 was important since I do a lot of 3d and rendering work. Want to move off my PC to the iMac for rendering. I use Maxwell which is multi-core aware. Can't wait.

My dual 2.5GHz G5 feels so slow and seems to be getting slower by the day. Finally made up my mind to get a new 27" iMac. I'm thinking about the 2.8GHz Quad core i7. Anyone know if those are readily available at Apple stores?

Tonsils & Kids - 15 years ago

My 7yo has had more than her fair share of colds over the last few years, and they always go right to her chest. Doc indicates that her tonsils are rather large and may be contributing to her condition. My wife and I both had our tonsils removed when we were kids and benefited greatly from their removal. Now we may need to decide what to do with our daughter. Our doc has broached the subject

Having been a victim of an Escolar attack, I can attest to the severity of the potential side effects. In my case I ate Escolar knowingly, but was completely unaware of the repercussions I would suffer. I was down for two days in what was the worst case of abdominal distress I have ever experienced. Will never touch Escolar again.

We have a dog, two cats, wood floors and uncontrollable dust bunnies. Just acquired a new Roomba (551 from Costco) and it works great at keeping those dust bunnies at bay. I would not count on it to replace a real vacuum, but it certainly is great for maintenance.

The wife and I iron the clothes we wear every morning and have the ironing board permanently set up in the bedroom. We leave the iron plugged in all the time and rely on the auto-off to power down the iron instead of unplugging it. Curious to know what others do.

All seems to be working now for some reason. Came home with intentions of reseting the Airport, but the G5 woke up just fine. Slept it a few times to be sure and it came back up ok. Still no access to the Airport via Airport Utility. Will probably end up reseting this weekend when I have time to do it. Thanks for all the help.

rgG, already cycled power on all of my network devices. The Extreme is serving up dynamic IP's as it's supposed to, but the G5 is just not getting them. Doc, the PC and G5 are hardwired into a network switch which is hardwired to the Extreme. All of my other interfaces are disabled.

Very strange network problem - 15 years ago

Came home yesterday to find the power had been off for a few hours. My G5 was off and was probably asleep prior to the power going down. Fired up the G5 and my PC and log in. PC gets on the network just fine, but the G5 does not. Strange... So I run through the network troubleshooting wizard to no avail, then notice that my IP address isn't what I expect it to be. I have my Airport Extreme

Multiples totally work. I've got 2 and am going to add at least 1 more for my 2 story house. One thing that I've found is that they're really sensitive to placement. I have a Griffin Airbase for one of them and one of these stereo connection kits for another The important thing being able to place them clear of objects that might negatively effect their performance.

I don't think you have to turn right on a red, but if you are a proactive or attentive driver you will turn if given the opportunity. Bonus question answer: You can turn Left on a red when turning onto a one way street.
