"we got our shadows back" <--? (Buzz) I was thinking or riding my bike to the beach today from Anaheim area along Santa Ana River Bike Trail, but instead played around with my drone and other camera instead. I bet it was nice down by the beach earlier.by SKYLANE - Tips and Deals

I enjoyed the season where Captain Pike was in with the crew of Discovery. Was bummed when the season ended, wanted to see more of the character. Was pleasantly surprised to see him back in this new series called Strange New Worlds - I enjoyed the first new episode.by SKYLANE - Tips and Deals

I still am using my iPad Air that is stuck on iOS 12. There are a few apps that won’t work anymore (Best Buy, Amazon, to name a couple). However, the apps that I like that keep me from racing out to update my hardware all work fine.... Safari, Zynga Poker, FlightRadar24, Google Maps, and handful of others...by SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
Now that I am thinking about it, I do have a 128GB SSD in an Envoy case from OWC. The 128GB SSD came out of a 2017 MBA that I replaced with a 1TB SSD. That drive isn’t getting much use around here, maybe I will offer that to him. If it works, then he can get any other drive that he wants, when he wants, for storage. I will report back here in the future to let you know what the final soby SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
I have been having fun lately learning how to use my camera gear in manual modes instead of automatic. Current cameras that I have had for over a decade (but not used much because of other time constraints) are my Canon Rebel T3i and GoPro Hero 3+ Black. Oh, and also the camera on on my Mavic Air 2 that I picked up in March (they are still $200 off at Best Buy if anyone is looking). A friendby SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
Thanks for the inputs everyone! You all gave me good things to think about, maybe I just need to try adding a monitor to the setup and see what happens. I will goof around with a 4th monitor that I already have around there (I have an HD monitor and a 2K monitor that I can experiment with). If I come up with something useful, I will report back here in case helpful to anyone. Just for curioby SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
rich in distress I have not used Chrome for anything, interesting caution that you share there. I will share that with him. I only use Safari and FireFox, so not familiar with any of the cautions with Chrome. From what he told me, Zencastr is only recommended for Chrome and Edge. So Chrome is something more than just a browser? Just curious for my own knowledge...by SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
Wow! Lots of great ideas here.... in response to one of the earlier questions, the iMac is a 27”, if I heard him correctly. I like the idea of using an external first to see if it boots without issues from the internal. If it does work fine on the external, then call it a day. The main things for me to consider with him is the best solution for the external on the USB port - lots of greaby SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
jdc I have bought stuff from OWC for years as well, I totally agree with your comments about them. All I have to say about OWC is good things, I have really enjoyed their products and their support. Also, their DIY support videos are terrific. Thanks for your inputs. I am thinking that the external may be the way to go. (although, would be fun to see if I could actually get in there andby SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
mattkime I will ask him to make sure there is nothing else open on his computer when using Chrome and the Notes app. Plus, I will have him try that setup from a fresh boot up... will let you know what I find out... Will help him out to take a look at the Activity Monitor as you suggested as well... Thanks for the input...by SKYLANE - Tips and Deals

Carnos Jax... I started with a single monitor setup, then went to the triple monitor setup. You can see pictures of the setup here: This past winter, I bought a new bigger desk for the setup. If I get a chance later,I will post the picture of it here... My next plan is to get a new throttle quadrant for the setup to support multiengine operations...by SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
A friend has asked me if I could change out a failed hard drive in his 2012 iMac. I went to OWC's DIY videos to see what was involved. With the tools and techniques that I see in the video, I believe I am capable of doing that changeout for him. We would get the hardware for the change out from OWC. Questions: (1) The DIY video makes the opening of the case look rather easy to do - tediby SKYLANE - Tips and Deals

Lux Interior: Was wondering, you still going to get the Mac Studio anyway? Which one? I hope below is not a thread hijack, if it is I will delete it and post it separately... Didn't have much time to play with my GoPro Hero 3+ when I got it back around 2013/2014. However, been playing with it a lot lately taking it out on bike rides, learning how to manipulate video with iMovie. Etc. When I have the batteries out of it for awhile (both batteries in external device for re-charging), the internal clock sometimes sets back to 01/01/13. RAMd®d I don't think I am a fan of the idea of BVLOS either - I could see where some Part 107 operations could benefit from it, but curious as to why recreational pilots would want/need that priviledge. FAA has a lot to think about with BVLOS. Maybe BVLOS will remain in the waiver request section for Part 107 operations only. VLOS - (unaided) Visual Line of Sight. I am in Hawaii often, but have not been to Maui though since 1990. I recall that when I self drove on that road to Hana that I really enjoyed it. We spent night at a camp site near Hana and were at the Seven Sacred Pools well before some of the first morning buses arrived, then we hiked back through the bamboo forest to the water fall. The car we rented was suitable for driving the rest ofby SKYLANE - Tips and Deals
