I ended up buying an OEM assembly from a Canadian recycler for US$201 via eBay (shipping exceeded the cost of the part). Others were available and much cheaper but so was the Chinese plastic. This will better match the other taillight.by Speedy - Tips and Deals
kj, interesting suggestions. The VW dealers don’t stock them and can’t get them according to the bodyshop. I’m headed for Amazon, then AutoZone.by Speedy - Tips and Deals
Congrats to both of you, but especially mstudio for matching his college weight! We walked three miles a day all but a handful of days this past month. We were in Florida and are now in south Texas so weather has not been much of an issue. We left our scale at home but I usually lose five to ten pounds over the winter only to gain it and more back over the summer.by Speedy - Tips and Deals
QuoteBuzz QuoteSpeedy QuoteBuzz Why/how did you bust the taillight on your kid's car in the first place? == Son parked my 2004 TDI Passat wagon at Home Despot in Minnesota and a young woman about 70 parked behind him. Quotechopper My car repair guy uses car-part.com for used parts. He buys stuff every day. Sorry to hear about the Menards incident. Irks me every time I go there that John makes ya park on one side then ya gotta cross the concrete desert to get back to your car after you've bought crap from him. I survived one meeting with John when they started in racing. Life is too short for that guy.by Speedy - Tips and Deals
Quotegadje QuoteCJsNvrUrly How did you get scammed through Venmo? my take is that he sent money though Venmo and the item never arrived. This is like giving cash to someone on the street with the promise they come back to the same spot the next day to give you something. I can't really blame Venmo for that.. This^. Venmo is meant for use with family and friends. Venmo had nothing to do witby Speedy - Tips and Deals

I got scammed out of $140 to buy a taillight to replace one on my son’s Passat, paying using Venmo. It seemed legit, of course, and I simply did not do my usual due diligence. I was in a hurry and didn’t carve out the time like I should have in order to do the most basic of searches. This was the first time I have ever been scammed. Lesson learned. That is all.by Speedy - Tips and Deals

“Pentagon officials advised then against shooting down the balloon, whose belly structure was roughly the size of three buses, because of the possibility of harm to civilians and infrastructure while it was over land. Pentagon officials also said they did not view the intelligence threat from the balloon as any more extensive than what China could glean from a satellite.”by Speedy - 'Friendly' Political Ranting

QuoteAllGold Quotegabester I seem to remember reading a few years ago that the economy needed to generate on average something like a quarter million jobs a month just to keep pace with kids graduating into the workforce from high school and college... These days, I think there might be more people retiring from the work force than the young ones entering. True, and we would be in trouble liby Speedy - 'Friendly' Political Ranting

Quotegadje Quotepqrst I know that solar panels homes, when they put power back into the grid, often find that the local power lines, built many moons ago, can’t handle the new power.
