Did I miss where he wanted a VGA signal in his barn?by flareslow - Tips and Deals
How far (in feet) is the barn from the nearest outlet? What you propose would work, but an extension cords with 2 male ends would have to be home-made, and would be dangerous in the wrong hands.by flareslow - Tips and Deals

This is related, because I would like to have an ATV too, but.... Back in January, we got several voicemails from our ISP, Charter, concerning some "security issues". I finally returned the call and the CSR had to look up the reference number from our voicemail. She came back finally and asked what we were doing on our internet, because in November we had used over 500GB of data downby flareslow - Tips and Deals
This would be a "MacGyver" approach and would only work for an audio signal be it FM or TV. Build one of these, and connect it to the audio line outs of an FM or TV receiver tuned to the channel you want. Then tune other FM receivers in the house to the frequency you set in the transmitter. I built one of these and the output quality is very good. The signal coverage is adequate forby flareslow - Tips and Deals

The cold start injector was separate from the air flow sensor/fuel distribution unit.by flareslow - Tips and Deals
I had a BMW 320i '78 vintage with Bosch Continuous Fuel injection. When it would not start cold, I found the cold start injector to be the problem. It was a single injector that sprayed fuel into a plenum that fed to the intake manifold when the engine was cold. It was a simple test to check it, simply unbolt it from the manifold and place it in a glass. Crank the engine when the coolant is cold,by flareslow - Tips and Deals

Original threads: Can you uninstall a security update? Follow up: Can you uninstall a security update? Turns out there is an incompatibility in the OS 10.5.8/PPC G5/Flash Player 10.1 mix. The Adobe Flash Player website indicates that the PPC version works with up to OS 10.4. By selecting my OS version as 10.3, I was able to download Flash Player 9, which seems to work now. Original post: Can you uninstall a security update? As mentioned I was able to get Firefox working, but when I re-enabled plug-ins, the problem returned. By the process of elimination, the culprit turned out to be the Flash Player plug-in. After trashing the Flash Player plug-in from the Library/Internet Plug-ins folder, Safari seemed to work ok. QuoteDoc Does it work as a Mac USB/WiFi adapter? I took the one from my son's XBox 360 (like the one in the picture) and plugged it into the USB port on my MBP. It shows up in the System Profiler under USB as a Microsoft network adapter. When I opened system prefs and went to Network, it did not show up in the list. I suspect it needs a driver. A google search did not find any.by flareslow - Tips and Deals
Doc, Thanks, I had google's DNS servers set, so I deleted them. I also reset Safari and Firefox. Now Firefox seems to work ok, but Safari gets into an infinite loop trying to load Amazon.com.by flareslow - Tips and Deals

Does he want wifi for an ipod/ipad/iphone or a laptop? Build one of these: Long range antenna For the former, hook to an access point and aim it at the hunting blind. (This probably violates FCC rules regarding directional antennas on routers.) For the latter, hook it to the wireless adapter/laptop in the blind and aim it towards the airport/access point.by flareslow - Tips and Deals
