bfd doesn't remember seeing any hotels close to CBP … just the Iggles stadium and Hockey Arena. You're probably better off staying downtown where there's a few choices and taking the subway - or whatever they call it there - to the CBP … As far as Pittsburgh goes, you shouldn't have much problem getting walk-up tickets there. … magnitude 13 - 11. so it'll be about 100 times fainter than the faintest star visible to an unaided eye … but it'll be moving which increases your chance of picking it out (if you have good 8" or better telescope, a clear sky, etc, etc) The rock is about 1km in diameter … good luck.

Look at a CR-V. It's car based, so the suspension's a little mushier. You're not taking it off-road, anyway, it doesn't sound like, so that part won't matter. After your Exploder, you'll like it. bfd test drove one, and it's got quite a bit going for it. Mainly price/power and price/features ratios…

Whatever you buy her, make sure you also buy a sturdy little hard case… little digicams get lots of abuse, especially in a 14 year-old's backpack or bag … bfd has personally seen more than one of these cameras with totally smashed screens - which pretty much makes it EOC time ("End of Camera") …
