Still using Quicken 2007 here. I have a dedicated old Mac for bill pay stuff - so as long as the latest Firefox works I will keep that running. Tried MoneyDance a few years back - liked it, but it is clunky compared to Quicken - so just kept on using Quicken for now.by ADent - Tips and Deals

You can run old software with QEMU - there are several interface apps for it. But it is not plug and play and some have luck, others it is finicky. I am waiting for Parallels or such to run an old OS - but realistically I could just screen share.by ADent - Tips and Deals

Watched a bit - was not enthused. I was watching something (skateboarding) on CNBC, then when it got good they moved it over to NBC. This was all tape delayed 12 hours and yet what I saw didn't seem to flow super well, but didn't seem natural (ie it was edited somewhat). The games themselves were fine. The first segments were pretty good - though a bit formulaic. Like many TV shows it is fine as you are watching it - but a lot of plot holes if you think about it afterwards. The last act is fine, just preposterous from a plot point - they needed another 30/45 minutes or maybe a sequel to flesh it out and make it believable. That video is blurry, but I don't see any nose gear landing doors. You can remove them, lock the gear down, and fly with the landing gear down to the nearest major airport. The damage from the metal guard rail looks minor, but you would typically do such a flight unpressurized if there is any bent metal. Most tankless need to be directly vented outside. Our tank water heater is in the middle of the basement (next to the furnace), so we would have to relocate next to a wall and run the water and gas lines over. That article seemed lame. For $79 (for just the enclosure) you can get OWC Envoy Express ( ) from the site's sponsor and up to 1553MB/s - twice as fast as his recommendation. For more speed - up to 2800MB/s - you can get OWC Envoy Pro EX - . This is actually faster than the internal in his tests, so it would be interesting to see a benchmark with an M1 Macbook Air.by ADent - Tips and Deals

I had to upgrade to 10.13 because of 1Password - they don't support 10.12 with any version of their software and some update broke the browser plug in. But due to old software I wanted to keep HFS+. IIRC the new versions of 10.13 installer don't work with some of the instructions - but I had an old 10.13.1 installer around and that worked great and then I applied updates.by ADent - Tips and Deals

Don't those take up to 16GB? I usually take the new drive, put it an external case (which can be $15 from Microcenter or wherever) and either clone or install OS and migrate. Then I make sure it boots and then install into machine.by ADent - Tips and Deals

Usually you can get a dealer to do a pre-purchase inspection or you can find a local car shop, particularly something that specializes in that brand. The owner would probably need to drive it over. Makes AM sounds much better. FM HD is OK - one of the stations runs its 'studio' recordings, basically w/o commercials. Many others are now simulcasting an AM station.by ADent - Tips and Deals
