My i850 is 3 years old and I don't see either problem. Go through all your print menus (and there's lots!) to see if you have something configured incorrectly. Selecting the wrong paper can give poor quality prints. There's also a couple of utilities (BJPrinterUtility) in the Canon software that will let you test/adjust the printing. I figured it out by doing a "View Source" in Safari. Copied the source and pasted it into TextEdit to make it easy to search for "out?". What you did is just above that line. LyleH

Media Mail is $1.42 for the first pound (or part thereof). So if you want to send something first class, but could go media mail, the first class postage would have to be more than $1.42 (and weigh less than a pound) before you would want to consider media mail. Media mail really saves bucks when you mail heavier items. Ten pounds by media mail is only $4.84. LyleH

Not a direct answer to your question, but can you boot DW from a CD? Then there shouldn't be any programs running or files in use from the hard drive. LyleH

You can move many icons around in the menu bar by dragging them with the Command-Key held down. So he could move the clock to the right so it will display in Safari. LyleH

Or try changing the monitor to a higher resolution. This should move all the windows up so you should then be able to grab the Terminal window to move it even higher. Then change back to the original resolution. LyleH

When I'm on the desktop and select "View Options" I have the options set to "Keep arranged by Kind". And when I do this it displays all my hard drives first, with the boot drive as the first icon and the other hard drive icons listed alphabetically. LyleH

I've had this one for about 6 months, and it seems to do the job. The outer cage lowers when more weight than a bird or 3 is on it, and it's adjustable for how much weight will lower the cage, which closes the openings to the seed. Pretty cheap at $19.95, and a pretty simple concept. LyleH

I just did a test on my 1.25 MDD dual and Canon Canoscan 8400F with a multicolor document. On my system it appears USB 2.0 is three to six times faster than USB 1.1. A very unscientific test. I'm using OWC's OWCFWUSBPCI card. It does have issues with sleep, but only when I have a FW drive attached to the card and mounted. LyleH

We're retired, so we eat out one night and use our Entertainment Book card or another coupon. Then have the left-overs for 2 nights. Then repeat. Wife only has to cook maybe once a month that way. And like Seacrest, we go to different restaurants for variety. LyleH

And if you have an alias of your printer on your desktop you can double-click on that to get to the utility. I rarely drag a document to my desktop printer icon, but do use it to get to the bj utility because it's such a pain to find..... LyleH

Saw a story on TV on that topic. It seems the state of Washington calculated the weight of some vehicles as higher than they actually were. They were roughly 3750 pounds and WA said they were over 4000, which put them in a higher licensing bracket. These people took their vehicle to a state scale to check the weight.
