Last night I had the same folder of 125kb until the 6.09GB "Install OS X El Capitan" finished downloading - then it disappeared. LyleH

I'd suggest going to your local "plumbing store" and see if there aren't shallower garbage disposals available. That way you'd have what you have now without any mickey-mousing around. LyleH

If when you crush one and smell it, if it has an odor similar to coconut, they are probably odorous house ants. I don't believe they eat wood, and usually come in from outside, and exterminators can often trace the long trail they have on the outside of the house, usually on the concrete footing. Just search for "odorous house ants" online for the best exterminating solutions. LyleH

Coincidentally, a few weeks ago my son and DIL gave me a hummingbird feeder for Father's Day. I finally got it hung up outside the window last week and—
Nary a one.
I know there are hummingbirds around, as I've seen two recently, but so far they're studiously avoiding the feeder. Maybe it's the flock of sparrows (and grackles) that in the nearby regular feeders are distracti

Will do. So far, a quirky interface; it's also missing words clearly typed in simple Pages doc files, but I may not be setting the parameters correctly.
Pretty sure that EasyFind just searches based on file names and not the contents of the files, sort of like how the Mac OS would search before Spotlight.

I want a tire treatment that makes the tire look like new tire, freshly cleaned.
The super shiny, wet look annoys me big time. Even shiny annoys me. Clean black, matte finished tires is what I'm after.
So far just cleaning them with soap and water comes closest to what I want. As they age, they look slightly gray, not black.
I'd like to use something that protects the tires

I've used Black Magic Tire Wet for quite a few years. It lasts much longer than any other product I've tried. It even says it "lasts longer than any other solution" on the bottle. It comes as a spray bottle and is available many places, and not very expensive. My experience is it lasts for at least 2 weeks - other stuff I've tried lasts for a day or two.
I use a 2.5" paint b

Nike will accept ANY shoes for recycling - even if they are completely worn out. Here's a FAQ with the details about their program. The only caveat I have had at our local Nike employees store is the shoes should not have been worn for the last 24 hours before donating them. Not sure why that is, or if it's still in effect. LyleH

We were coming back from golfing in Central Oregon that day and when we hit the Columbia River Hwy. around Bonneville Dam we could see the ash cloud. I'm surprised that home usage gets so much attention when most of the water wasted is via irrigation and agriculture.
Irrigation and agriculture is not waste.
When you're growing fruit and vegetables in the desert, it kind of is. Mega-agriculture in the Imperial Valley was brought about more by the politics of big money and water back in the 30s, rather
