You guys are all a bunch of bleeding (sellers) hearts! As a buyer, I pay moments after the auction because "I want my stuff!" and paying quickly is all I can do to move this transaction along. As a seller, you want me to pay quickly so you get your cash right? So why can't everyone do their part and if necessary crawl to the Post Office so the buyer will be as happy as you are to geby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
My father had a clipper ship with the inscription U.S. Coast Guard 1942 tattooed on his arm. That's what I think of when I think of tattoos. It was also appropriate when you consider he was actually in the Coast Guard in 1942. As far as I can tell, the guys with the tribal tattoos never belonged to any real tribe and the women with the tramp stamps weren't raised in the jungle either. Call me oldby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quotecbelt3 It's all about the NASA contracts. Or the glory (Branson !) So does this mean we are sending our Country and Western stars from Branson, MO into space? I say it can't be done fast enough! Yee-haw! After this we should send hip hop into space as well!by Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Kind of like the surstromming hotline eh? Much like calling those 900 numbers advertised on late nite TV. Hoping for Brigitte Nielsen but ending up with stinky herring! I'm tempted but I'll probably pass....or just keep calling til Gitte answers...(swoon). This would not mean I'm I'm obsessed, just extremely focused...right?by Jack D. - Tips and Deals
QuoteOmbligo QuoteIronMac What happened to the neighbor? Noticed he never mentioned getting rid of the old refrigerator/freezer, or what he was keeping in it... The wife is in the freezer but my neighbor has moved to an elderly housing complex down the street. She now has a new smaller fridge w/o ice in the door. That new refrigerator will not last 25 years. I hate to get rid of theby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quotemstudio QuoteJack D. Of course I did go shopping today and bought a large bag of ice to fill the hopper with....seems you have to have a water supply source to make the ice with. Stupid ice maker. Now I need to get all the bits to hook into the plumbing so I won't need to buy ice either. Well, despite myself I find I'm slowly being dragged into the 20th century. Today automatic ice, tomoby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quotedavester If the oldie is really 25 years old you'll probably see a change in your electric bill...for the better! That would be great! Our 'lectric bill averages $55 month* and it would be nice to see this go down! *I know this is cheap. Merrimac has it's own generating plant so we're off the grid price wise.by Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quotebillb dish washers talk too much but whereas you've already gone done spoiled with crushed ice take it slow one appliance at a time I will. Don't want to rush these things. Been thinking of looking at those new portable telephones too, I hope I can adjust to livin' in the future.by Jack D. - Tips and Deals
So my neighbor has moved and I bought her 2 year old side by side fridge with ice and water in the door to replace my 25 (at least!) yo over/under (still working great) fridge w/o water and ice in the door. It's been so long since I've moved anyone's fridge that I've forgotten what a huge pain in the arse moving fridges are! She paid around $1700 for this beast and I scored it for $200. These guys are a little over the top but the recipes are good. Try the Potato Bombs or the Bacon Chicken Sticks real good! QuotePam Don't forget psychological injury. If he had hit the cyclist and killed him, Jack and his wife would have to deal with the images and emotions for a long time. I tel ya, during the incident I wanted in the worst way not to run over this fahkstick. But as soon as I was clear I wanted to kill him! Instead I laid on the horn and thought about going after him and...and...I don't know. Runby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quotedavester Quotecbelt3 Glad you and your family are okay, and good on you for the reaction time that avoided a fatal lesson in physics. Whose family are you talking about? He was driving a car. There's no way that a bicyclist could injure anybody in a car. That's where you're wrong. In trying to avoid a collision I veered right. Had there been a tree or another vehicle there I may have beeby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
So I'm driving down one of our back roads this afternoon and suddenly this guy on a bike blows - and I mean he was standing up pumping - through a stop sign to my left and almost gets slammed by my Suburban. I would have nailed him square on dead center hood. I locked em up, swerved to my right and missed him by inches. The wife and dogs went flying and the whole time this guy just kept pumping aby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
QuoteWHiiP ... stupid coupon printing... Yeah, this never works right or at the very least is a pain in the arse to get working. Not worth the trouble for "Yum-O" dog food.by Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quotehal ya gotta wonder... these annoyingware apps that take over your browser with ads and pop-ups... why? And as we as a culture mature, we should create specific punishments for the creators of these apps. Perhaps a nicely decorated cell with an endless supply of PC's to cleanse of all malware for the term of their punishment. Or as an alternative they could paint all the fire hydrants iby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quotefreeradical Yeah, if you want to show how cool you are nowadays, you really have step up your game. Earlobe stretching might actually get some attention today. Quote3d "Why is this new tenant out to get me?!! I just politely asked for a ride. She's crazy. I must send her another message so she will stop sending the police to my apartment. Mother will be most displeased if that happens again." Dealing with an unstable neighbor sucks. Worst part of owning a home. I have been very lucky to have really wonderful neighbors the last 28 years.by Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quote3d QuoteJack D. Quote3d Maybe start with a motion sensor porch light for $50? Rats typically scurry away when the lights come on suddenly. She has one. The problem with this rat is we want to catch it so the Police can dispose of the carcass legally. They already told me that video of her in action is an automatic theft charge. Unfortunately, I doubt anyone is going to jail for stealiby Jack D. - Tips and Deals
Quotemodelamac I followed your Amazon link and started reading the Q&A on this Foscam. You can control it with your iPhone (as well as monitor the recording) but only Windows computers can interact with it. Viewing the recordings on the Mac should be no problem with either QT or VLC. QuoteIronMac I don't know how much storage you will need because it depends on the quality of the video and how much time you are going to record. I think 1 terabyte is a start but I have seen people and companies devote NAS boxes for this sort of surveillance. You simply cannot go to the police without video in this sort of situation and you certainly don't want to confront a nutjob. Policeby Jack D. - Tips and Deals

My 74 yo neighbor Judi (the one who's brother evicted her) has moved to a new elderly housing location. These are small single story connected apartments run by the local housing authority. She moved in three weeks ago and within the first week someone stole two of her plants and a wrought iron stand from her back "porch" area. I argue with the wife about this all the time. In the fraction of a second that it takes you to decide NOT to use turn signals you could have flicked that lever. In doing so you: 1. Avoid potential LEO pinching you for not using a turn signal. 2. Avoid being deemed an assshole to others who don't know your intentions even though YOU think they are obvious. 3. It costs you nothing, NOTHING!..by Jack D. - Tips and Deals
The director, Grigory Rodchenkov, who ran the laboratory that handled testing for thousands of Olympians, said he developed a three-drug cocktail of banned substances that he mixed with liquor and provided to dozens of Russian athletes, helping to facilitate one of the most elaborate — and successful — doping ploys in sports history.
