HD replacement in an iMac.....don't try this at home?

Take it easy, it's fairly simple on a 2007. Last time I did it it took 10 minutes. And follow C(-)ris' advice Smile Other thing I'd add is do it in a dust free environment as possible and check the LCD screen and back of the glass screen for dust before put it back together.

Removing the screen is truly the easiest part of the job. You don't need fancy suction cups, just a couple of of the small ones that come two to a pack for a dollar or two. I just leaned he screen against some sort of object on the dining room table (a big candle or a vase or something). But I did use a screwdriver to prop open the iMac kind of like the hood of a car.

Agreed with all of the above. I upgraded the drive in my brother's a few years ago, and was shocked at how easy it was. The most shocking thing about it these days was getting a 2 TB drive for under $60, though.
