Enhanced version of the original video may show injury to the back of Zimmerman's head.

A newly enhanced version of police video taken on the night of the Trayvon Martin shooting more clearly shows a possible gash or injury on the back of shooter George Zimmerman's head.

ABC News debuted the new video today. In it, an apparent wound of some type can be seen on Zimmerman's head when he turns away from the camera.

I can't tell what the marks are. We'll have to wait for more leaked evidence to stir the speculation pot.

Here's what is funny about that. The "wounds" which appear to be straight lines, are on the top of his head. And this video was shot about 40 minutes after the shooting, the wounds already look like that, no stitches? A gash like that to the head would cause a lot bleeding. Where's the blood on him? And no trip to the hospital? The paramedics on the scene gave "first aid" and said the wounds were not serious. Now he has huge gashes on his scalp? And how did they get on the top of his head, if somebody is banging your head on the sidewalk, aren't the injuries on the back of your head? Was Trayvon holding him upside down by the feet? Maybe that's the next story to emerge.
And wouldn't that result in abrasions and bruises, not straight line cuts?
What did his head look like BEFORE the incident?

All the video shows is a guy who appears fine half an hour after he said he endured a fight that was life-threatening and include 60 seconds of beating to the face and head, but didn't even warrant a trip to the ER or more than quick first aid from paramedics.

OK then.

Perhaps patience is the optimum word here . . . Personally I am partial to
a thorough investigation prior to jumping to contusions *(:>* . . . ymmv

NEWSER) – NBC has issued a mea culpa for how it edited a phone call between George Zimmerman and a police dispatcher before the killing of Trayvon Martin, reports the Washington Post. In the bit that aired, Zimmerman says this:

The full version fills in the gaps between those sentences and shows that Zimmerman offered that Trayvon was black only after being asked:
Zimmerman: "This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about."
Dispatcher: "OK, and this guy—is he black, white or Hispanic?"
Zimmerman: "He looks black."

NBC's statement, obtained by the Post's Erik Wemple: "During our investigation it became evident that there was an error made in the production process that we deeply regret. We will be taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future and apologize to our viewers."
