Yellow "New Private Message" alert doesn't ever go away!

One down, one to go. You might try re-opening the last few messages you received, and see if that helps. That is all I can think of. Maybe one you read didn't clear or something. Re-open the last 10 or so messages, or any that you received after you noticed the problem, and see if that clears it.
