Need opinions - are these two different photos of the same person?
#21
I'm voting for probably no*, but not for "you're crazy".

- Face is longer on the right photo; eye line to bottom of nose, bottom of nose to upper lip
- Jaw line seems sharper on right photo.

*Only if the two photos are supposed to be of the same age. They could be of the same boy at different ages; the younger on the left.

If they're not the same person, those two are very closely related!

I voted same person.

The most striking thing is the exceptionally long forearms on both.

Good call.
Disagree; that's not "exceptionally long forearms", that's relatively thin body overall.

what about the pictures of the people next to him? he's most likely to be with his parents or relatives, do you have pics of your grandparents, or his uncles, aunts, etc?

yeah - in the original photo, there's an adult male standing to the kid's left who I thought maybe could be my Grandfather, but upon closer examination decided that can't be the case (comparing with the two family photos I have of my Grandfather, the gent in the historic photo has a much wider nose than he did).

Thank you everyone - I think I'll go with the majority and assume it's him; it was a pleasant surprise to stumble across it - only wish I had discovered it earlier when I could have asked him what he did on on VJ-Day.

The striped shirts clinch it for me.

There is software and websites that will compare faces in multiple images, do a web search. One promising product is from Microsoft.
