Republican legislators plan to crack down on voting access after record turnout helped Democrat Joe Biden win Georgia, flipping the state after 24 years of GOP presidential wins.

They blame absentee ballots, used by 1.3 million Georgians who voted from home during the coronavirus pandemic. In all, 5 million people voted in the general election.

...Republicans say they need to protect election integrity from the possibility of cheating.

If Stacey Abrams continues to win with her approach of getting out the vote in person, the irony is that in normal elections, absentee ballots were favoring the GOP.

I was just reading that this morning and bitching to my husband about it.
We have had no excuse absentee ballots for years here, but as soon as people on the opposing side starts using them, well that’s not ok.
How on earth can removing voting drop boxes be a good thing?
Why can’t a political group mail out absentee ballot applications? That seems like an infringement on free speech.
I am not going to address each one, but it is just wrong.

This is attempted voter suppression, plain and simple, and I am not surprised.

Contrary to the GOP's opinion, we do not live in a police state. Ironic that those who rail against "big government" are now apparently wanting to require that we all be photographed and identified. Voters are not criminals.
